Jinny was an outstanding guide on our food tour through San Francisco’s Chinatown. The variety and quality of the food were exceptional, leaving us with an unforgettable experience. Jinny's extensive knowledge of the community's history, her attentiveness to every guest, and her excellent recommendations for our trip enhanced our visit significantly. When we expressed an interest in tea, she went above and beyond, personally escorting us to an incredible tea tasting experience after the tour.

We were so impressed with the tour that we’re excited to explore other cities offered by Sidewalk Food Tours. Later, we ran into Jinny again and asked for a recommendation for a bar serving Pisco Punch. She suggested a cozy spot called Mario’s in North Beach, where the drinks were fantastic, and the ambiance was charming. Though we were still full from the tour, the food at Mario’s looked amazing.

We wanted to eat a variety of tasty dishes in Chinatown, but weren’t confident in finding them ourselves. Not only did Jinny P take us to 5 different restaurants with delicious food, she gave us very interesting stories about Chinatown, local history and beyond. It was truly one of the most enjoyable parts of our SF visit. Thank you!

Jinny was an amazing tour guide and was a wealth of knowledge and recommendations for the area. You can tell she has built a positive relationship with the local vendors visited by the tour. The food we tasted at each location was some of the best we have had, and it was a perfect balance of eating and strolling through Chinatown.

Was a fun and informative tour. Our guide, Jinny, was sweet and engaging with managing a large group that we were teamed up with. If you do the morning tour at 10, make sure you eat a light breakfast, if at all. All restaurants on our tour gave significant samples of multiple items. Carry a beverage with you as some items can be a little spicy while flavorful. Good way to enjoy the Chinatown area, learn some history, and get some exercise in for the day.

This food tour is well worth the money and exercise! If you’re lucky enough to get Spud, you’ve hit a gold mine. He was super informative, friendly, funny and was very considerate of my fiancé’s food allergy. I would highly recommend for tourists and locals. This food tour was definitely one of our trips best highlights. Don’t forget to eat the onion buns while they’re fresh and hot and the spicy noods are a spicy food persons dream. BOOK SPUD NOW!

Michael M was an outstanding tour guide. We learned so much about Chinatown and its history. The food was delicious. I only wish that we could live closer because I could eat this food every week.
I highly recommend this food tour. You won't be disappointed.

My husband, 12year old (boy/girl) twins, and I took this tour while visiting San Francisco for Spring Break. We shared the tour with a friendly and fun German family (Dad, Mum, 12yo, 15yo) who we had the best conversations with throughout the tour. Isabella was our kind, informative, engaging, and generous guide. She taught us about local history, culture, religion, food, housing, and much much more. We met her at the main gated entrance where she greeted us with warm onion rolls; a rightfully awarded top food in the area.

Isabella took us to multiple spots throughout China Town such as (not limited to):

-- common tourist favorite spots like the Fortune Cookie Factory,
--not-so common spots like the local community garden/space, Buddhist temple, and Buddhism store where we picked up Joshua paper (a really neat practice where you buy an item like money-shoes-clothes-house made of paper, burn it and it sends it to the intended deceased person in the after life),
--and exclusive entry to spots like Jade Chocolates (highly awarded and rightfully so after tasting!) even though they were closed. We were provided private access by the owner to Jade, where we were offered samples and the ability to make purchases of the beautiful offerings. This special access was available because of Isabella's relationship with these owners and shops along the whole tour.
--She took us to a traditional bakery where we received special award winning moon pies to sample,
--a traditional restaurant where we had the most amazing spicy green beans (not spicy just flavorful, and the most popular provider of this dish in the area), gyoza, shumai, and Peking duck (a treat reserved for special guests),
--following with a private seating for tea at Vital Tea where we received valuable education on the health benefits of different teas, how to properly make them to maximize benefit, as well as a personalized tea recommendation and tasting for your individual health needs (think diabetes, metabolism, etc.) and a visit with local celebrity Uncle Gee
-- and ended with a full meal at another restaurant of lo-mien, gyoza, and other tasty items.

Isabella makes sure she orders enough food to your hunger level. Our entire family, even our persnickety eater, enjoyed this tour from the culture immersion, the point outs of great spots like the Kim & Ono store who have sale kimonos for less than $20 to high eld 100% silk kimonos, to best eateries to try later like House of Nan King.

This small family business provides the unique and personalized treatment you are hoping for. We don't recommend often, but this was worth a review and recommendation for others to have such a wonderful experience as we did. Thank you to Isabella and Sidewalk Food Tours of San Francisco for such a memorable experience our children and family will share at the holiday dinner table year after year!
