We were pick up from our AirBNB in Johannesburg on time. Few pickup and 2-4 stop on the way with an hour lunch break. Our guides Bernard drop us to MASANGO CAMP and later we joined Lucas for our night safari. Both of them are very knowledgeable but could do with a bit of sense of humour (loosen up)to make the experience much more fun. Breakfast and dinner is included in the price but not lunch. Food is a bit disappointing and watch out for the monkeys when you are eating. Things would be better if we gathered at the fireplace after dinner and get to know each other or the guides sharing a few stories. The next day was raining and we didn’t have a chance to see any animal not till after our lunch break we manage to see more animals. We were disappointed for not being able to see the big 5. It was a good experience of a lifetime

We booked through bazbus and were a bit disappointed that the tour was run by Viva Safari. But it turned out to be an amazing trip!!! Transport was great and Masango camp is a great place to stay, especially for young people on a budget. The food was delicious and the guides did their very best!
Especially Elliot, our guide for the whole day in Kruger, was fantastic. We spotted the big 5 (2 seperate leopards and 2 Male lions in the span of 30 minutes) and also saw a Cheetah. We know we were also very lucky.
Definitely a recommendation, especially for first time visitors!

I found this whole experience awe inspiring from start to finish. It will be in my thoughts and my heart forever.
The accommodation exceeded expectation, it was situated perfectly to look at the stars at night and watch the beautiful African sun rise in the mornings. My bed was very comfy and clean and laying there listening to the night sounds of the animals coming to life was magical.
The meals were tasty and plentiful, the staff warm and friendly.
Africa is under my skin - I’m already reading up more on the fascinating flora and fauna I was introduced to on the bush walk.
Kruger fulfilled my elephant dreams!
Thank you for your expertise and infectious passion Jordan, Charl and Rex. And thank you for entertaining me on the long journeys to and from Johannesburg Solly and Thabo

I went with Viva as I’m a backpacker and their 3 day option was the cheapest reasonable way I could find if doing a safari, and I had a fantastic time. They have several different lodges/camps, and in this one you stay at the Masango camp. Some points about Viva/these types of safaris in general:
-Viva, like most of these ones, stay on private reserves outside but nearby to Kruger that share unfenced boundaries with the park. This seemed like a good compromise to me, still felt like we were staying amongst everything but is cheaper.
-The camp is basic but honestly I though my provided everything you could want from a cheaper safari. Masango consists of a series of cabins arranged around a large central fireplace area with a bar at one end. Had everything I thought I could want.
-The night drive and bush walk you do with Jordan are great, hes a bit of a character who really knows his stuff and keeps you entertained.
-The main day of driving you do through Kruger park is really great, however some of their guides are hit and miss. Most are really great but we came across one who was just pretty quiet and seemed a bit disinterested. This maybe makes it sound worse than it was, the vast majority of the guides are really good.
-lunches on all the days are self bought at places they drop you off at. This is a bit annoying, but not too bad. Otherwise the dinners and breakfasts they give you are delicious and there are tonnes of them.

All in would thoroughly recommend Viva. You’re not going to get a safari for much cheaper than this without seriously cutting corners.

Me&my girlfriend had a really great time at the Masango camp!Very nice and professional team that took care of anything from the moment we were picked up from the hotel in Johannesburg until the moment we got back. The trip to Kruger was super cool (marked V on all "Big five") and we felt safe always.
At breakfast and dinner it was nice to meet and talk with people around the world.
For sum up - absolutely excellent experience and again many thank for the MASANGO CAMP crew!

This safari was good and the accommodations were well organized. But I had my best experience with our bus driver from Dullstroom to Johannesburg. His job is to bring everyone to their destination in Johannesburg. Since I had to take a flight the next day at 9.30 am he brought me all the way to Lanseria. Lanseria is a 45min drive from Johannesburg. He helped me a lot with arranging my stay in Lanseria by borrowing his phone and we had a great chat on our way to Lanseria.

The next day when I woke up I realized that I lost my small bag with my passport in it. I left it at the dashboard of the van. When I arrived at the owner of my lodge to solve this situation she got a phone call from Soli, the name of my bus driver. Soli told her that at the time he got back in Johannesburg and wanted to drop off the van he had found my bag. He had send her a text telling her that he would bring the bag the next day. She had missed the text and got surprised by the phone call. It was 7.30am and Soli told us that he was already on his way to Lanseria to bring me the bag. He showed up 10 min after his phone call.

This amazing kind, compassionate man Soli saved my flight and without any complaining sacrificed so many of his spare time to help me out. I really wanted to share this story to give Soli the credits he deserves.

Soli you're a great man and once again thank you so much! Hopefully we will meet again.
