First of, Alex was a great guide, and we enjoyed the tour immensely. LOVED the green chorizo and the mole. Not sure if it was necessary to have us stop at two different taco stands so we ate tacos twice, especially since it never stopped raining that made it extra difficult to eat. I didn't know what to expect, but I think I was hoping to experience only dishes that I've never had (somewhat unrealistic, I get it).
I skipped the popsicles at the paleteria at the very end of the tour because I generally don't like them, and because I'm petty - The guide asked the lady at the counter to let our 9 year old use the bathroom, and she said no, so we had to find a place that let him use the bathroom, which led us to leaving the group earlier than the official end of the tour. So, in my opinion, if eateries partner up with these guys for the tours, they need to allow patrons to use the facilities as well.
We also haven't received the photos that Alex promised would be emailed to us.
All in all, it was a nice intro into Playa del Carmen with a ton of interesting info provided, and we would definitely recommend it.

Great food tour. Included more local places and moved away from the main tourist avenue. Showed a more authentic side of the area which we were hoping for. The one taco stand we went to was amazing and we even saved the location so we could go back. We also got some information about the culture of the area.

Playa Del Carmen tour with Marcel was amazing. It’s a core memory that we will always cherish. Marcel showed us around and taught us so much. The food was amazing and so were the people. I highly recommend these tours. Cheers and thank you Marcel. See you again next year.

Super fun tour that takes you to some of the little dives and street taco locations around Playa Del Carmen. The tacos were fantastic and our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable and informative. If you have a free couple of hours definitely give this tour a try.

The food was great overall and our guide Diego was so nice and informative. Since our meeting point was 5th Avenue I was really hoping we would be exploring more restaurants down 5th Avenue rather then branching off to less popular locations off this street. If I could change anything I would have preferred to explore restaurants down 5th Avenue only.

Our guide was amazing! He took us to a number of different places and different variety. By the end I was actually full!
He also gave us history as well.
He also made sure we were satisfied and asked if any of us wanted seconds of things. He was very friendly and I would absolutely recommend this tour especially if you’re new to Mexico and a tad nervous to leave your resort like I was lol

Great guide - so much interesting food history but also thoughtful historical information about Playa del Carmen. Marcel was so kind and thoughtful about our experience and made everyone comfortable and very well fed. We wished we had done this the first few days so we could go back to some of the spots for full meals. The food was a reflection of Playa and of the care the people put into their delicious and local food.
