Hot Air Balloon Flight Over Tuscany from Siena

No doubt being in a hot air balloon is a magical experience, but for the price this was truly underwhelming. A van picked us up at 4:40am (without explanation of why so early). Driver didn’t tell us where we are going or for how long. Finally we reached a field with deflated hot air balloons, where once again without explanations, we are left to stand there for more than 40 mins watching the staff inflate balloons and get the equipment ready. I’m sure it is all very interesting if they spent even one or two sentences telling us what they are doing or what to anticipate. On the actual ride, the pilot (to his credit, very experienced) again described very little of what was going on besides that we were going up and down and left and right (e.g., what hill or valley are we looking at?). At the end of the ride, without explanation once again, we were ushered into vans with other people, not knowing if we were going to be dropped off back at our hotel or what. Turns out we were all taken to a spot for breakfast, which was really just the time for them to upsell us the drone pictures. All-in-all, we just thought for the price point we could at least get a little bit of explanation of what was happening to make the experience more enjoyable, instead of feeling like we were just pushed into one vehicle after another.

Great pilot. Landed 900 feet from our resort. Not planned that way, the winds guided us there. Beautiful, thrilling and a true highlight of our 30th wedding anniversary!

What an amazing experience, I couldn’t believe it. It is a very surreal feeling floating above the beautiful landscape. The flight went incredibly smooth and so did our landing. A bottle of champagne and some pastries were provided after our trip. Highly recommend this experience, it’s absolutely wonderful.

The flight was so relaxing and the team excellent and professional. We were blessed to have such an experienced pilot who was not only confident but also entertaining. The view was amazing and the breakfast much needed and perfect from the region. It was also great to meet fellow passengers from across the world. Highly recommended.

Our Italia balloon team did an amazing job!

The perfect landing in the unaware farmers very very small area of his field was insanely cool!!

Another wish off my bucket list!!!!
The experience was breathtaking!
Never would have imagined we would float up through the clouds to over 3,000 feet… we were speechless! Then watching the next balloon pop up out of the clouds after us, there are no words!

Very organized event. Watching our balloon and the others in our group inflate was amazing. A great way to see the countryside. Very peaceful in the balloon. They had a drown taking photos while we were in flight. We purchased a video of our balloon flight. Great photos. Nice breakfast in the field at the end of the ride.

This is an experience my husband has wanted for several years. It was wonderful to finally get to do it over the Tuscan Valley and celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. There are no words for how great views are. We were originally scheduled for a Friday launch but weather was iffy - Renato reached out and got us in the day before - What service and great communication. GiGi (sp?) was a very skilled pilot. We enjoyed him immensely. Thank you for a great start to our Italy vacation.

This was spectacular!! The team was awesome. We arrive around 6AM and watched while they prepped and readied the balloons for flight. Such team work and procession in the entire operation. You will never experience sunrise in Tuscany the way you will in a hot air balloon. It was so beautiful and magical.

Now I want to give extra kudos to our specific crew. We were not in one of the larger balloons....we were private and our team was Tomas and Steve. Tomas was a great pilot. He respected your privacy if you wanted it but we were so intrigued about how he rides the air currents to steer the balloon . It really is amazing. He showed us how they use the altimeter to find the right current to go left or right. And all along the ground crew was in complete contact so you will feel very safe. We flew over vineyards and castles . We saw Deer and Foxes feeding in the field in the early morning hours. We landed in someone's vineyard and waited in the basket as Thomas teased Steve about finding us and brining "Breakfast and Prosecco". After a short time we see Steve come drive up in the vineyard .he drops out a wood table, a table cloth, Pastries and a cold bottle of Prosecco....and REAL champagne glasses. We toasted to an amazing experience . Then they went to work packing up the balloon and basket. Such great experience and great crew!!! I will go again but only if I get to have Tomas and Steve!

I will tell you we have been home for a month and we still mimic Tomas on the radio....every morning when breakfast is ready...."Steve?.....Breakfast" ( with the Italian accent) "Steve?.....Prosecco" . LOVED every minute and worth every penny!!!!!!
