Hierapolis ("Holy City") was an ancient  Greco-Roamn city in Phrygia located on hot springs in South West Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to maodern Pamukkale.

Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs there have been used as a spa since the 2nd Century B.C.E. and people came to soothe their ailments with many of them retiring or dying here.

Some of the highlights; the large necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, the main street with the gates and latrines, cathedral, the theatre and St. Philips tomb. The hot springs causing cascades which are called the Cotton Castle. Because of the distance we have to leave Antalya early and return late but its worth it to experince this wonderful place.
begining to end for base approax walking time over 45 min with theatre visit

We all thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was interesting and varied and the tour guide, Bekir, was sensitive to the whole group, keen to ensure that we all got the most out of our day. We actually did much more than was on the tour description and we learnt so much from our guide about the area and Turkish history. I absolutely recommend this trip. I think that it was the best day of our holiday and we will remember it for a long time. Thank you!

Pummerkale was the most amazing experience. The guide was fantastic, giving information on the bus and the giving us all freedom to structure our time there as we wish. I do wish we could have entered a bit earlier. For people complaining about the transfer time they should probably check the distance on Google maps first. The journey there and back was well broken, the lunch was really nice
My 7 year old said it was hee favourite day away

Firstly, the van itself arrives on time. They are extremely punctual. But be prepared for a 2.5-3 hour drive both ways.

The actual tying at Pamukkale will be around 3-4.5 hours depending on each day.

Our tour guide Bekmir (sorry if I got it wrong) was extremely helpful and resourceful!
He deserves extra credit because he tried to accommodate the trip based on different people preferences and was looking out for us personally.

We went on the trip on july 22nd when it was extremely hot and humid (45deg c+ and 80% humidity)

We were luckily prepared enough with electrol water, swimsuit, hat, UV protectant umbrella and cold drinks to protect us and prevent a heat stroke.

The cleopatra pool is apparently nicer in colder weather but we just used the cold showers as a cooling mechanism between the three spaces - the blue iconic natural pools - the museum - the audio theatre

You want to visit the blue natural pools first, be careful the water bed is rocky, we saw someone getting hurt .

The museum is informational.

The amphitheater is a climb, be prepared in the heat. The view is definitely spectacular and worth it. The climb down is time consuming too.

The paragliding experience was definitely a bonus, we did not expect it but were given the option to do it on the way to Pamukkale (1st thing)

Beautiful experience! The photos are extra, definitely take cash with you for all this, euros or Liras.

We really enjoyed Pamukkale, even though it was smoking hot that day. We did not enjoy the shopping stop, or how crowded the bus was. You just can’t fit 4 adults in the back seat comfortably. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
