WHAT TO EXPECT

Prague Castle is a seat of the Czech kings and later presidents. It has been an important symbol of the Czech state for more than a thousand years. The castle, one of the largest complexes in the world, is made up of historical palaces, offices, church and fortification buildings, gardens, the great Gothic Cathedral of Saint Vitus and many and picturesque spots. It covers an area of 45 hectares. The panoramic view of Prague Castle is one of the most spectacular in the world. During our tour we will walk through the Prague Castle yards, enter some parts that are free of charge, but we will not enter all the interiors (1/4 of the cathedral is usually Accesible for free, Golden lane is for free after 17:00. (You can either decide to add some extras and extend this basic tour with us, or visit the interiors later on your own.)

Valuable late Gothic entrance gate to the famous bridge. Enjoy the rich Gothic sculptural decoration including some gargoyles, beasts and even the protecting witch.

This charming street is characterized by ancient burgher houses, mostly now transformed into quaint hotels, restaurants and small shops. Nerudova is a part of the Royal Way of Prague. Nerudova is named after the 19th century Czech writer and journalist Jan Neruda. It is one of the “must see” places of Prague. Enjoy the romantic house signs above the main door e.g: At the Two Suns, Three Little Fiddles, At the Turnip ...

We will promenade across the oldest bridge of Prague, the Charles bridge, decorated with 30 old picturesque statues and the most beautiful gothic bridge tower in Europe. The bridge has been standing since 1357, thanks to - legend says - eggs mixed into the mortar. If you touch the magic five star sign you can make a wish and the power of the saints will help you … Here, you can really breathe in the true atmosphere of Prague, get back into the times of golden Prague. Very romantic!! Maybe you will recognize the scenery from the first Mission Impossible movie. Near the bridge you can also see the area called Prague Venice with the side channel called Devil stream and the famous painted anti-communist John Lennon Wall. At the end of the bridge you can see the gigantic Klementinum, a former Jesuit College which serves as the National Library today.

The extensive grounds of the Clementinum is the third largest Jesuit college in the world. Build in 16th -18th centuries in the Baroque style. In its Astronomical Tower, meteorological measurements have been collected since 1775. The most beautiful hall of the complex is the Baroque Library with beautiful frescoes and historically valuable globes. The Mirror Chapel with its richly designed interior and unique installation of mirrors is a place where classical music concerts take place regularly. (You can either decide add some extras and extend this basic tour, or on your own visit the interiors.)

Strolling through the oldest streets, we will reach the charming Old Town Square, the 3D textbook of many architectural styles. There are many important sights: the baroque, gateau-like St. Nicholas church, the Kinský Palace - the city’s finest rococo facade, the gothic House at the Stone Bell, the spiky-topped Church of Týn and much more. The Square is dominated by the Jan Hus Statue and the Old Town Hall (damaged by Nazis in W.W. II). Everybody just "wow" at the truly amazing Astronomical Clock with the hourly show - 12 apostles appearing in two windows and the skeleton ringing the bell.

The most beautiful Art Noveau building of Prague. The Municipal House facade is eye-catching monumental architectural composition. Monumental allegorical figures, displayed all over the facade of the building, which were created by some of the greatest local artists. Anthropomorphical sculptures are accompanied by decor with Art Nouveau floral ornaments as well as other classical architectural elements. It is a civic building that houses Smetana Hall, a celebrated concert venue, where The Prague Spring festival is held.

Part of our party was stuck in Munich overnight. The tour company was great about moving our tour in the morning to mid-afternoon. The tour guide, Robert, was funny and very informative & did a great job of herding 8 people around. Thank you to everyone involved!

I would give Magdalena 10 stars if I could! She was so knowledgeable, considerate and helpful, starting with emails and a What’s App conversation even before our trip.

She has special certifications in Castle Hill, which is vast, and the Jewish Quarter, also a major attraction. She pointed out things we never would have noticed on our own, and knew the most important aspects to consider.

Even during our lunch break, she talked to us about Czech history and culture. She pointed out the best Cech dishes and restaurants to try.

Magdalena tuned into our needs and interests. We covered a lot of territory, but the pacing was good. We took breaks when needed. She knew the best times to visit places to avoid the worst of the crowds, and got tickets for us.

She was also quite generous, providing us with special maps, bookmarks, a language guide, and even Czech chocolate!

Her English is superb. She is also fluent in Spanish, and conducts tours in both languages.

My husband and I loved Prague, and hope to return. Magdalena was a big part of our experience.

My husband and I had two half day tours of Prague with Lenka Zelana and a driver. Lenka was a terrific guide, very knowledgeable and so interesting. We learned so much about art, architecture, history, music, and countless other aspects about Prague and the surrounding areas. Lenka is a great story teller. She talked practically non-stop for at least three hours each day and maintained our interest level throughout. We would highly recommend Lenka, plus our driver, and the Personal Prague company.

Our guide Sarka made the tour so interesting and fun, with her deep history and cultural knowledge. This was my second guided tour with Sarka and I'm already planning the next one ! I highly recommend her!

Honestly if you are looking for a private guide with witty sense of humor, deep understanding of history and tailor made approach In English, this is it.
Sarka made it interesting and fun. Best tour ever. We also took the Jewish quarter with her and cannot recommend enough.

I should also mention she provided us with custom made cards and recommendations over local pubs, bars, experiences.

We had two half day tours of Prague. Robert, our guide, was great and gave us a lot of historical and architectural background of many of the sites visited. He had so much information and mixed it well with a good dose of humor.

We were on a family trip to Prague for the weekend, Lidia was our guide during the stay and we and our 14 and 17 year old children loved her work. We didn't have much time for the visit, but thanks to her we visited all the most important corners of Prague, she explained the stories and curiosities to us, making for an interesting, enjoyable and fun visit. He quickly adapted to our needs, tempo and energy, he is a wealth of wisdom about history, culture and art, his language level is excellent, he is a great polyglot. We recommend that if you want to have a good experience on your visit to Prague, whether with a lot of detail or not about the history of the city, she will adapt. Without a doubt, we, on a future trip to Prague, would repeat, Lidia is passionate about her work and that is what she transmits 🤍

Our guide, Veronika, was so knowledgeable. She was pleasant as well. She met us on time in our hotel, guided us on public transportation & took us through the Prague Castle. As we passed main points in the city, she identified them & explained their significance. We learned so much & wished we could have had her as our guide every day. Before we said “good-bye” Veronica identified places on a map that we could walk to on our own. The map was from the company & better than any other map given to us. We plan to see other recommended places in the city & to eat at recommended restaurants. It was perfect to have booked the tour for the beginning of our stay in Prague!

We had a great time with Alzebeta, our personal Prague guide, and it was literally a personal guide as it was just my wife and I on the tour. We actually did a 3 hr tour of the castle district the day we arrived and then a marathon 6 hr tour of the Old Town, New Town, Jewish quarter and everything in between the next day. She was an exceptional guide tailoring the tour to what we wanted to see and showing us the many highlights of the city plus a lot more of sites we would never have seen on our own let alone even would have known about. She was very knowledgeable in Czech history along with architecture and art. Would highly recommend this tour company and Alzebeta as your guide. The price was very reasonable considering it was just the two of us on the tour.

Terez was our tour guide and became our friend by the end of the day. We felt very special being guided around the city by her. I cannot recommend this company and Terez enough. Book this tour and you'll leave with a very special place in your heart for Prague.
