The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is without doubt one of the world’s best treks and for those who visit Peru looking for good adventure this is definitely the best choice. This ancient trail was laid by the Incas and is one of the many trails that used to connect different cities and temple of the Inca Empire.

The Royal Inca Trail leads from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu combining different ecosystems, microclimates and lot of history giving the visitors a really amazing experience. People enjoy from the very start of this trek looking at how the spectacular scenery of the Andes Mountains merges into the cloudy forest to finally arrive to the magnificent complex of Machu Picchu lying on a green plateau where the architectural art is in perfect harmony with the natural environment.

I did the 4-day Inca trail with them. I clarify that the experience of the activity was spectacular, I am not evaluating that in this comment. (In addition, the activity was not carried out by this company, in my case they were an intermediary with the company with which I did it, which you do not know when you hire it)

The organization was quite bad for the following points that I will explain:

- They told me that it was impossible to combine the visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu with the climb to Huayna Picchu. So to climb Huayna I had to give up the visit to the citadel. It is false, in my own group there were two people who had the tickets and made the climb at the end of the visit to the citadel, and then they only had to return on their own to Aguas Calientes while the rest of us ate. So due to this lack of knowledge I was left unable to climb the peak.

-On the other hand, from the moment I knew that it would not be this company that would send the guide, I tried to get them to contact the guide to organize me with him. They avoided giving it to me until the last moment, when I had to demand it. And that caused problems for the organization in the previous days.

-I also commented well in advance that if it was possible they would include me in a group of Spanish speakers. And when the guide arrived he told me that the group was 5 people from the United States who only spoke English, although there was a boy from Colombia.

I don't put this last point as something negative because in the end, I don't know if it wasn't possible to square it because there were no more options. And it was also a great group, and we tried to understand each other. But added to the above, I can't help but think that it could be a possible organizational improvement.

Having said all this, I emphasize that the activity was a 10. But as for the success of the activity, I consider that it is due to the guide and his company. Here I am evaluating their organization as an intermediary.

This was a very expensive tour therefore I was expecting proper communication and support. The central office failed to communicate critical information about logistics of the trip on a timely fashion. We messaged them several times with our questions. Yet they did not clarify adequately. Our tour guide met up with us the night before this journey would start and we realized that we need to purchase multiple items that we could have simply brought from home. Furthermore, they told us we will have a door to door service on the way back ( after 4 days of hiking!). When in fact we were dropped of 20 minutes away from our hotel! We contacted them hoping to come to a resolution but they just handed us a dry “ we are sorry”.
Our tour guide and porters were nice. But I won’t recommend anyone booking with this company.

Peru andes top did not fail to provide the most amazing experience imaginable. Provided adequate debriefing before each day. They were genuinely concerned about your well-being, dietary allergies, etc. Lisbet was an amazing guide, spoke perfect english and loves what she does. They never pressured you to go faster and encouraged time for pictures. Florentino is a world class chef and the meals were above and beyond what we expected. The hike was challenging and you definitely need a shower by the end but well worth it! Highly recommend.

We recently completed the Classic 4 Day Inca Trail with Peru Andes Top and couldn't recommend them enough!!
Our tour guide Sebastian was incredible, there was nothing about the Inca Trail he didn't know and even gave us some recommendations for the rest of our time in Peru!! We felt he went above and beyond the duties of a tour guide.
The porters do such a fantastic job of carrying our stuff, setting up camp and ensuring our stay was perfect, they all deserve a medal! Also unlike other tour operators Peru Andes Top ensure they don't exceed the maximum weight limit. Sebastian also made an effort of introducing us to all 10 porters, they told us a little bit about themselves, their age, where they're from, how many children they have, ect.
The food .... where do we start!! It was AMAZING. We were expecting cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and rice and vegetables for dinner. However we couldn't have been more wrong! One day we had fresh fruit and pancakes for breakfast, lunch we had the best guacamole I've ever had, followed by soup and rainbow trout, arriving at camp after a long day we had tea time which consisted of a snack such as popcorn and hot drinks and then in the evening we'd have dinner which was always incredible and the portion sizes we're huge! We were doing the trek as part of our honeymoon in Peru, Sebastian and the team kindly surprised us on our 2nd evening with a cake and mulled wine, it was a moment we'll never forget!
Thank you to Sebastian, the porters, the chef and Peru Andes Top for making our honeymoon unforgettable :)

What a great trek. Our group was of 4 people, two couples, and we all happened to be much the same age which really added to the fun for us. Our guide, Lenin, found a good balance of leaving us to our own pace at times and keeping an eye on us at other points. The food was a complete and pleasant surprise for being so delicious and beautifully presented - including a birthday cake made on the trail for one of our party. The whole trip met all my expectations and then some.

With so many tour groups and options available, we landed on Peru Andes Top Classic Inka Trail 4d/3n based on availability and price and are so thankful we did. I will only book with Peru Andes Top after this.

We ended up being the only people in our group, so we basically had a private tour which allowed us to set our own pace. Our guide - Sebastian - is clearly a legend on the trail and knows everyone and all the best spots and times. He met us in the company offices before we set out and set clear expectations for the schedule and activities, so we felt pretty confident and comfortable, although we were all nervous about how challenging the hike would be.

And a challenge it was -- not for the faint of heart -- but definitely possible with a little determination. We are in reasonably good shape but be warned, the altitude makes it a little hard to catch your breath and there are a lot of stairs. A LOT. But they're awesome, Inka stairs, so there's that.

In the end it was some of the most fun I've ever had, with absolutely stunning views of the landscape and sites along the way, great weather, an amazing team of porters, very talented chef, and the funniest, kindest guide anyone could ask for.

A huge thank you to Sebastian for teaching us our new favorite card game, making us feel like family, sharing his passion and knowledge of history and contemporary culture, and giving us a unique experience that we'll never forget.

For anyone considering this tour - do it without reservation. It's an incredible deal considering 3 delicious and enormous meals a day, as much comfort as you can possibly have roughing it, and a very hardworking crew who want you to have the best time. Don't forget to tip generously!!

We had the best tour guide for our Inca Trail adventure - his name is Sebastian and he truly made the trip a memorable experience. He provided great insight into the history of the Inca people and also was extremely considerate with my group. The porters and chef were also super friendly and welcoming. I had a blast hiking the trail and they were very accommodating. The food that was provided was delicious and very fun. My only complaint with the food was that I had mentioned before the trip that I am a primarily vegetarian but will eat chicken or turkey - 4 of the meals had beef or ham which was very disappointing as I couldn’t eat it. Had they not asked me beforehand I would understand, but since they asked for my preferences and then disregarded them I was a little annoyed. Overall it was a great trip and I would highly recommend!
