Our day starts with a pick up at your accommodation in Porto or somewhere in the Douro Valley at 8:30am or 9:30am. During the day, you will have the wonderful opportunity to savor several Douro DOC and Port wines with commented tastings, a 50-minute boat ride at the small village of Pinhão, and a three-course meal with wines.
It's now time to stop at the famous Pinhão railway station and enjoy some breathtaking landscapes. Relax: the time is all yours! Have an innovative perspective of this region’s history, culture, and gastronomy, while strolling through the vineyards where the finest wines from the “Quintas” (Wine Estates) are produced. A memorable experience!
Have some time to admire the viewpoints and take group pictures – the Douro Region is truly overwhelming! At the end of this adventurous day, rest on a gentle drive to Porto, where we will drop you off comfortably at your accommodation at around 7:30 pm.

Our Douro Valley wine tour with Alfredo was without a doubt the highlight of our 14 day tour through Portugal. Alfredo’s knowledge and passion for what he does is truly fascinating. The Douro Valley has many stunning views and Quintas where excellent wine is produced. What we liked about Alfredo’s tour is that he took us to an array of vineyards, from local family owned to established estates. Best wine tour in Douro Valley.

100% agree with Ryan's recent review about Alfredo's "private wine tour" to the Duoro Valley. This full day education and wine tasting (with 3 course lunch) in the Douro was as described. Our group of two couples from Australia were picked up on time and during the 1.5 hour trip to our first stop Alfredo described the region and introduced us to the various wines . Our first stop for wine tasting at Gueda (Casa de Romezal) was nothing short of brilliant with the owner Luis. At our next stop, the larger, more upscale premises of Quinta da Pacheca we tasted more wine and were then served a very good 3 course lunch, again with local wine. We were then driven to Pinhao and took a 1 hour boat trip on the Duoro. Our last stop at the (even more) upscale Quinta do Pego provided gobsmacking views of the Duoro valley with tasting top class port wine. I would unreservedly recommend anyone seeking a one day adventure to the Duoro Valley to contact Alfredo at Tour vent.

The tour was simply fascinating!
Alfredo was a wealth of information about the area, history and wines in the valley.
Our first stop was my favorite!
The owner of the vineyard Luis at Gueho Wines incredible story regarding this family owned property since the occupation of the Moors and how he and his sister have revived the business. The wines and olive oil superb!
Wonderful lunch and beautiful boat ride!
We would highly recommend this tour.

After having done many tours via Viator, and other apps, we have found that it is not very enjoyable. You never know what group you're going to get, and it can get crowded and frustrating. Via word of mouth we received Alfredo's contact information and could not be happier that we did. We only had 2 short days in Porto, but wanted to make the most of our time. The full day education and wine tasting (with 3 course lunch) in the Douro was amazing and exceeded all expectations. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in Porto Gaia, and embarked on our journey. On the roughly 1.5 hour trip Alfredo educated us on the history of the region, wine making, trading, regulation, etc. Our first stop was truly one of the most amazing winery tours/tastings we had ever done at Gueda (Casa de Romezal). Very personal and quaint. Luis is a true gem. Quinta da Pacheca was our next stop and was also amazing, where we were served an outstanding 3 course lunch. Our last stop provided the best views of the Valley - Quinta do Pego...I almost forgot the 1 hour boat ride up the Douro was breathtaking. Our expectations were exceeded in almost every aspect of the trip. We HIGHLY recommend Alfredo for any adventure. He has decades in the hostpitality space, and it shows!

Our private wine tour of the Douro Valley with Alfredo was the highlight of our trip! We were picked up at our hotel and transported with care into a day filled with magical moments!
Not only is Alfredo knowledgeable about the beautiful area and the wine grown there, he delighted us with historical facts, humor, and a shared interest in music!
Our first stop at Casa do Romezal was a beautiful start to our day. The owner Luis was filled with infectious enthusiasm for the area and the wines his family is blessed to produce there over many generations. His genuine love of the land and his heritage are evident in all he says and does. His wine and olive oil selections were as impressive and the estate the produces them. We loved them so much; we had some shipped home. The ordering and shipping process were easy and effortless!
Because we were surprised to like Port so much, Alfredo made an unplanned stop at a nearby Port maker so that we could try Vintage and Late Bottled Vintage ports. It was an incredible experience!
After a beautiful drive filled with stunning views, Alfredo took us to an incredible farm to table lunch at Cais da Ferradosa. Our multi-course meal of all locally sourced ingredients was paired with exquisite wines. It was at this meal that I learned to love port and tonic! Our food was flavorful, beautiful, and thoughtfully presented and prepared. This family-owned operation provided us with a five star experience and an amazing view!
To complete our day, we were treated to a tasting of stunning selection of wines at small privately owned vineyard and hotel. This ideally located vineyard and hotel offered such an intimate experience with sweeping views of the Douro Valley. I kept thinking what a remarkable venue it would be for a destination wedding!
All in all, our day was simply perfect. If you are looking for a personally curated tour away from crowds and cookie cutter itineraries, look no further!

Tour was great from me and my wife being picked up at our hotel to the end. Got to see the beautiful Douro Valley region and guide was super knowledgeable about wine and the region. Great wine tastings along with a very good lunch and cruise on the rive. Could not have ask for a better experience you need to do this tour when in the area!

This tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Porto. I was travelling with friends and family in a group of six and this private tour was perfect. Our guide Alfredo was so communicative and booking and scheduling pickup were a breeze. We were picked up right in front of our vacation rental in Porto that morning and on the drive to the Douro Valley Alfredo explained the history of not just wine making in the region but how it tied in with Porto's history and present day economic climate. We learned so much about Port wine as well as the dry table wines they produce in the Douro now. Alfredo's passion for the wine, the region and the history of the valley is palpable and quite contagious. We were driven to 3 wineries which were carefully chosen to reflect various styles and ages of wines as well as small and larger producers. We were treated to an incredible lunch at Quinta da Pacheca that was one of the best meals we had on our entire trip to Lisbon and Porto. All the representatives at each winery were also very knowledgeable, fun, polite and helpful. After lunch, we got to take a riverboat ride down the river which provided simply stunning views of the valley. On the way home to Porto, we stopped in the town of Pinhao - a small historical town where Alfredo showed us an old train station with gorgeous and interesting mosaic tile work. We never once felt rushed and Alfredo gave us many options along the way to decide what we did and didn't want to explore and kept us on track. His relationships with people all over the valley was evident and really allowed us to get the VIP treatment and slip in without incident to any place we were visiting. I can't recommend this tour and Alfredo more highly - do it!!!!

We feel so lucky to have hired Alfredo Santos for our private wine tour to the Douro Valley. From the very beginning of our conversation in the car ride it was clear that he was very knowledgeable about wines and about the area. We enjoyed asking him many questions and we learned so much before we even got to our first winery. The wineries he chose were all excellent, no crowds, beautiful locations, wonderful people doing the tastings. We had an amazing lunch, a rabelo boat ride on the beautiful Douro River and then another tasting. It was a perfect day and we were so glad that we took one of our two full days in Porto to experience this. Alfredo has great reviews and he has earned them! Don’t hesitate to book him if you want a perfect day!
