Bike tour to discover the hills around Florence, the beautiful area of Chianti Colli Fiorentini and Chianti Classico.
The tour start from San Donato, small town located just outside the town center of Florence, to avoid the trafic of the city.
You'll cycle surrounded by beautiful views over the Val d'Elsa and with San Gimignano at the horizon, direction Castellina in Chianti. Castellina is one of the most charming hilltop villages in the Chianti area and you will have the time to walk in the town center before to reach the winery.
The tour includes a Chianti Classico wine tour and tasting in a local winery, with a typical Tuscany light lunch.

You can decide to complete an alternative tour and reach Badia a Passignano, an historic Benedictine abbey surrounded by cypresses, and Panzano in Chianti, beautiful medieval town located in the hearth of Chianti Classico region.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed both one day tours we took through Anima Toscana. Michele planned a gravel tour one day and a road tour the second day. Michele communicated well throughout the whole planning process and had our bikes set up to our specific specs each day, including our seat heights, my specific pedal requests and a late change to my wife switching to an e-bike for both rides.

Lunch in Chiusure was probably the best pasta I had during our whole trip to Italy and visiting the Fèlsina winery was also a pleasure. If we had done these rides on our own we would have never discovered those two highlights of our trip.

I love climbing punchy hills and both routes delivered in spades. If you don't have a good level of base fitness or an aversion to hills I would highly recommend you ride an e-bike, but both the Bianchi gravel bike and the road bike Michele equipped me with were great.

All in all an A+ trip!
