The best way to teach children is to involve them, and that’s just what this tour does. Armed with activity booklets filled with maps, puzzles and quizzes, the tour provides an engaging, fun, and encouraging environment to learn about some of the world’s most famous sculptures, paintings and artists that fill the unique hallways of the Vatican.

And of course, at the end of the tour the kids receive their own take-home prize!

This Private Family Tour is a fantastic way to get kids excited about history, and a fun experience for the entire family! This kid-friendly Vatican tour includes highlights of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica and some gems, such as the pope’s carriages, added exclusively for the little ones. The Museums can get quite crowded, so along with all the major must-see highlights we feature child-friendly rooms so kids have the time and space to be curious and ask questions. The children will have fun marveling at the tricky Momo’s Staircase while following clues in their activity booklet. As the children solve puzzles and riddles, your guide will take the opportunity to tell you stories of what it is like to live as the pope in Vatican City, what it was like to be an artist during Michelangelo’s times and how some of the world’s masterpieces came to be. Other highlights include the Pinecone Courtyard, Octagonal Courtyard, and Gallery of the Maps.

Of course this tour also includes Michelangelo’s incredible masterpiece – the Sistine Chapel. There have been plenty of interpretations of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel and plenty of stories which have been passed down over the centuries. It is our mission to continue passing down these stories to the next generation of art lovers. And we are using fun to do it! Look up at the famous ceiling and spot the five errors in the activity booklet!

Your comprehensive Vatican tour concludes with VIP entrance directly into St. Peter’s Basilica without standing in the long lines. Walking through the Basilica, you will learn all about the secrets of the magnificent and ornate decorations, sculptures, altars and chapels. Visit Michelangelo’s Pieta and walk down the main nave to admire the dome he designed that sits on top of the largest Catholic church in the world.

The tour was fantastic! Kept the kids’ attention and interest (ages 10, 7, and 5). The activities for the kids were lovely and we will have activities to keep their attention for the plane ride home. Def recommend if you have young kids. Selenia was awesome. Our 5yo took her hand and they were so cute together the whole 2.5 hours.

Alessandro was amazing!! She was very accommodating and patient especially since one of our children has a disability. She was so helpful making sure we had access to elevators when available. We wouldn’t have made it through everything if she wasn’t there to help us out. She was so informative and made it fun for the kids with videos and an activity book. Alessandro did an excellent job at making it interesting for kids and adults alike!! She was so friendly and this was definitely an unforgettable tour.

We loved our family tour of the Vatican! Ella was wonderful with our kids and made the information relevant to our entire group including kids (10 and 13), parents and grandparent. She helped us navigate the crowds and get around the museums easily. Highly recommend Ella and the private family tour!

In our first of two LivTours which were both exceptional, we did the family Vatican tour with Frenchie (Francesca) and it was STELLAR! Frenchie did an incredible job engaging our 7 and 9 year old girls for 2.5+ hours in the Vatican Museum. The Vatican Museum is massive and overwhelming but with Frenchie it became a literal playground for kids. She told great stories, had an incredible energy, used a bunch of helpful pictures, and most of all was able to read our waxing and waning interests better than any museum tour guide I’ve ever had. She didn’t make the kids feel like add ons and she didn’t make the adults feel juvenile. It was an educational masterclass that we all LOVED. I will absolutely be sending friends on this tour. If you are considering the tour and have kids a little interested in art and history this is a must do with Frenchie!

Sophia was an amazing tour guide that kept our 8 year old entertained in what otherwise would have been a rushed miserable experience for the rest of us. She used a book of activities to keep him engaged the entire time. She also was an excellent tour guide for the rest of us adults and I learned so much more than I would have. The private experience was definitely beneficial in that we all had time to see and take photos of what we wanted as well as were efficient skipping the non essentials to us; Sophia made sure everyone heard everything she was saying even in St Peters Basilica. The skip the line entry is a must when visiting the Vatican and we were able to avoid the lines as well as have special short cuts during our tour.

Massimo was an amazing tour guide. He gave great detail of many of the art & sculptures as we passed them. His English was perfect. He definitely added to the takeaway from the tour and would suggest him to anyone.
