The private tour included pick up and drop off at our hotel in Ocotal, which was super helpful since we didn't have a car. Our guide was Wilmar - very friendly and knowledgeable. We first visited the Rescue Center, where we had plenty of time to tour at our leisure. The Center isn't a flashy tourist destination, so it's a nice place to just focus on the animals and the Center's mission. Our second stop was the beautiful waterfall, which also didn't feel like the usual tourist destination - many local families enjoying time together and playing in the water. Again, we didn't feel rushed to get in, get out and move on. Finally, we had lunch at a local cafe near Liberia on the way back - delicious! We had a nice time and recommend booking a tour with Wilmar.

Wilmer is a great guide and knowledgeable about the area. He surprised us by taking us to the waterfalls first but when we got there it made a lot of sense (less hot and crowded in the morning). Visiting Las Pumas Rescue Center and Sanctuary was a priority for me & my husband, and Wilmer was very good about giving us the time we wanted there. I have some limited mobility and I never felt rushed. Everything was at our own pace. Highly recommend hiring Wilmer for a private tour tailored to your needs.
