We really enjoyed our tour with Filip! He was very friendly and funny and history is made alive through his story telling. We had a relatively small group of 5 and all of us were treated to the BEST gelato in town by Filip! He knew the owner so we got to skip the long line and enjoyed the gelato at the end of our tour. Our tour lasted longer than stated so hopefully it meant Filip also enjoyed our company : )

This is a very challenging review to write, and we are going to levy blame for what occurred equally upon the tour provider as well as Viator. We booked this tour many months in advance of our cruise which stopped in Split on Thursday October 12, 2023. We did not have cellular phone service, but we did have an eSim for data, so we made it very clear to the tour provider Filip that any correspondence about this tour would be through Facebook Messenger as the best way to reach us. We arrived at the arranged meeting point at 5 PM, but our tour guide never arrived. We interrupted two different English speaking tours that were at the meeting point to ask if they were Tourdesksplit, and they both answered no. We sent a message via Messenger to inform that we were waiting, but did not receive an immediate reply. We gave up and walked around Split ourselves before returning to the ship. Later on the ship, Filip replied on Messenger that due to personal reasons, our tour had been cancelled two days prior and that we had already been refunded the full amount of the tour. This is where we levy some blame on Viator, when you book a tour through Viator, be prepared to receive a large number of emails before your scheduled tour that are mostly advertising in nature. Because of this, the email informing us of the cancellation was lost among the many other Viator emails. Further, Filip informed us that a message had been sent from Viator to us about the cancellation, but we did not receive that email until Friday October 13th, a full three days after the tour had been cancelled. To be fair, Filip was very gracious and apologetic while messaging us afterward. We would have preferred that rather than cancellation, had there been another tour available at the same time, that we had been booked with one of them. Second, we doubt things will change, but we wish Viator would cut down on the number of emails sent to customers, as while on a busy vacation schedule, one does not have time to scrutinize every single email in the inbox. I'm sure that this is a very good tour, we are disappointed that we did not have the opportunity to experience it and learn about the local history that is in Split.

Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting. He took time to answer questions but kept a good pace going to cover all of ancient Split.

Filip is so kind and so knowledgeable. We enjoyed this tour so much. It was easily one of the best experiences we have had during our whole time in Europe.

Felipe was terrific - the tour was very interesting and was a great way to start our day in Split. Felipe was very easy to understand speaking perfect English and with him being a local he appeared passionate and well informed. I would highly recommend this tour if you go to Split.

Filip was both knowledgeable and entertaining on this excursion. He knew so much about the history of the castle, the Romans and the details of the castle. I would highly recommend this tour and would solicit Philip to be our guide. Thoughly enjoyed this excursion and would honestly say we walked away with so much information thanks to Filip, Book this tour in that you will learn so much about Roman history and how the castle and town evolved

This is the right amount of time to get an overview of the city. Our guide was excellent and very conversational. He really made the tour a hit. We enjoyed the city. So much to see and yet he fit it all in.

We had an amazing time with Filip! He told us soo much about every little thing in Split. He had an answer to all our questions and was absolutely wonderful and friendly. I totally recommand him if you really want to get to know the city. He even showed us parts of game of thrones on the place it was filmed an also where to get delicious ice cream and traditional food. We enjoyed it soo much!! 11/10!
