We had not received the expected email to confirm our pickup point so rang the emergency number the night before. First the man said the park was closed so we could not travel the next day, then he said that viator never sent the booking. I whatsapped him the confirmation we received once they accepted our booking then they offered to take us the next day as they said all their guides were busy. We then called viator who said they had just received a cancellation from the company because they could not take us due to problem with customs!! Although we received our money back we could have had a wasted day in Santiago had our hotel not suggested some nearby sites to visit. From reviews it may be that their tours are good but their admin is such that it is hit and miss whether you go!

Catalina and her crew were excellent! Easy pick up from hotel and convenient stops for restrooms etc. Aconcagua is spectacular! Bring jackets and gloves etc. It snowed on us at one point. Take sunscreen because I burned! And be prepared to hike... There are short distances and longer distances. Overall I loved it and would recommend to anyone.

Ismael was a wonderful guide, full of humour and knowledge, his passion for the marvels of nature is contagious. Miguel was a fantastic driver. The winding roads in the Andes can cause those who might experience motion sickness to fear this route, but Miguel did an astounding job with his smooth and calm driving ability. Our hot drinks, lunch and hospitality from Anibal in his quaint restaurant added to making this a memorable trip.

The tour was magnificent & an easy trip to Argentina from Santiago to see Aconcagua from the other side. This trip provides views of history from geological time, to the Incas, and into the more recent Chilean independence. Plan for a fairly easy to moderate walk, strong winds & beautiful views. Pack sunscreen but don’t pack lunch. Instead, enjoy a meal at the Restaurante Peaje whose owner is a true treasure. Be sure to bring enough cash for souvenirs and the award winning alfajores. We bought boxes for friends back home! Our guide, Ismael, is friendly and joyful. He is well versed in the history of the area and provides great historical perspectives. Gracias Ismael & Miguel for an awesome day trip to the mountains & for a glimpse into the history of the area.
