A residential area close to Waikiki and Ala Moana, Manoa Valley is known for its frequent rain showers. The area receives rain almost every day, making rainbows a common sight. The valley and surrounding mountains are filled with hiking trails, of which Manoa Falls is the most popular.
This activity includes a roundtrip shuttle from your Waikiki hotel with a duration of 4 hours (Roundtrip with pickup/drop off). The hike begins over a large footbridge and then crosses a small stream through a grove of Eucalyptus trees. The 0.8 mile trail gradually ascends through a lush rainforest ending at a viewing area set back from the base of the falls. It's a must do attraction!

A quick trip up from Honolulu and we were in a TROPICAL RAIN FOREST!!!! Great trail, incredible beauty, great value using the Go City Pass for Oahu…highly recommend. Pack some good hiking shoes as it will make the hike back down much more enjoyable. You can make it in everyday shoes, but just not as stable!

Our driver “D” was great. On the way to Moana Falls he showed us the famous hospital that Obama was born and his high school as well as where the Rock’s elementary school. He was extremely informative. I highly recommend this tour and the experience was terrific. Thanks D

Ease of pick up and drop off. “Dee” was great sharing information about the areas we drove past. Great on answering questions we had about the island and culture.

Our guide, Steven, was funny and engaging, and able to answer a variety of questions. He was helpful in accommodating special physical needs
The trail is rocky, and challenging later in the day when it's hot, so I'd definitely recommend going as early in the morning as possible. Take advantage of the bug spray and walking sticks provided. I sweated so much going at 11:00 that the bug spray wore off and the mosquitoes got me.
Due to a foot injury, I was only able to complete 1/2 the trail, and it was challenging, but the scenery is fantastic before it gets difficult --reminds us of the forest in Avatar --stunning!!! Breathtaking!!! My family went on to the waterfall, which was a little underwhelming with well-marked signs not to swim due to bacteria
Definitely easier with the shuttle than trying to find parking on your own
You need an appointment to access the visitors center. They had walk in availability at the time we went, but no guarantees.

It was great that the shuttle service was included. The hike was beautiful. The driver D told us a lot about the city. We wish there was a better souvenir shop at the end though.
