Allister did a great job in walking us through the history of whisky in Scotland, and how the different regions of the country affect and impart unique aspects to their respective whiskies. While this is a great intro into the world of whisky, I think even experienced whisky drinkers would still walk away having learned something new all while having a good laugh with strangers who become friends by the end of the night. I came away knowing at least two whiskys I'd pick up at the store if I was so inclined, which means the tour was successfully informative! Cheers!

Great night! The best part was Elenor playing her beautiful harp. I learned a lot about scotch and culture.

Ella did a great job introducing our 4 whiskys of the evening and punctuating our time together with great songs and folklore stories. We learned about whisky and about some of Edinburgh and Scotland’s quirky tales, while also chatting with our lovely neighbours at the table next to us. A charming evening!

This was a great experience. The information, whiskey and stories were all wonderful! I would absolutely recommend this. It is a much smaller and less commercial venue than some of the other options.

We went to the whisky & tales experience and our storyteller, Ella, made it a wonderful experience. She was vibrant and made each tale fun and exciting. I am personally not a big whiskey drinker but I loved hearing the backstory for each of the 4 whiskies we tasted, and though I did opt for the tasting I like that they offer a cheaper ticket option for those who did not want to do the tasting, and they also offered the option to swap the whisky for a beer or other drink. Overall it was a great experience in a great location with beautiful sights - would recommend!
