The fjord adventure would be incomplete without a guided trip to Kjerag bolt. The five cubic meter glacial deposit is mysteriously suspended between two rocks, with the location being a world of its own. It inspires to humbleness and gratitude for having been allowed the privilege to experience nature in its utmost purity, from the top of the world. Standing on the boulder itself is not for the faint of heart and visitors to Kjerag should be reminded that what this place has to offer is more than just an impressive boulder. Chances are you will be in awe of nature’s unmistakable beauty the entire trip, culminating with the breathtaking vistas over the Lysefjord. BASE jumpers challenge their limits on a regular basis from this majestic location and visitors may get the chance to see the “flying” daredevils in action.

Because we were worried about missing the shuttle bus, so we joined a hiking day tour! However, I forgot that travelers from various countries might all be experienced hikers. So, me and my 19 years old daughter were concerned about being a burden to others and climbed vigorously XD. On the way there, we were excited to see Kjeragbolten, so we walked quickly. But on the way back, three more mountains were waiting for us, so we got a bit tired. Nevertheless, it was a very worthwhile memory. Whether it was the guide who also acted as the driver or our fellow travelers, everyone was very nice.

Guide was impatient and rude. He sent 3 of the 8 people back after 1 hour. I am a 35 year old who runs marathons and completed serious international hikes. He insisted I stop hiking. I had to sit in the waiting area for 5 hours. Worst experience ever. Guide didn’t give any assistance to anyone on the hike. He was unpleasant and rude. For example, he kept cursing (even in the car.)

Lets start by how the operator was extremely unprofessional and has gut to cancel a trip 20 minutes before the pick up time. I understand if the guide was sick but it is your problem to handle and not me. I came specifically for this trip and was perfectly ruined while you are hiding behind the screen. TripAdvisor should have action to protect its customers from such lousy operators.

I don’t recommend this guy at all.

Went with a random group who were really nice people, also the guide Marius was awesome, knows the mountain like the palm of his hand and always willing to help, specially when we are having trouble in the descent, with slippery gradients

Amazing views from the top (and along the way) make this challenging hike well worth the effort. Our guide Kenth was great, sharing some Norwegian history on the beautiful drive out to Kjerag. He was very friendly and made a day out one we’ll remember forever!

My favorite trek in Norway, maybe the harder especially by rain (all our way to going there), very slippy but nice accommodation to help you for going there but it’s expensive, Absolutely stunning !

Hike postponed at the last minute by the company due to lack of guide available. On the day of the hike the weather is terrible, impossible to do the hike...
