Leaving from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík, this is the ultimate puffin adventure tour.
This tour is operated in our custom made RIB boats. They are specially designed to get you as close as possible to the islands and when possible we can switch them completely off to give the birds (and you) some peace and quiet to enjoy nature. During the tour your guide and captain will tell you interesting facts and tales about the puffins and the surroundings.
Our RIBs are also the fastest boats in the harbour, meaning that on a short tour you will spend the majority of you time with the birds.

If you are looking for a speed boat ride as the driver goes through other boats wakes - then this tour is for you. If you want to see Puffins up close use another tour operator.

Puffin fun facts. Large amount of puffins that we got to see. Guide was kind and knowledgeable. Boat felt safe and stable, were given eye gear and proper outer layer. Brought binoculars to better see puffins

I had booked a tour to see puffins in Husavik, but was disappointed that we didn't get close to them. When we got to Reykjavik, I booked this tour and got what I wanted! Although I didn't get the classic puffin with fish in his mouth photo, I did get to see puffins up close! (Note: I have a 600mm lens. These were not taken with a cellphone as many were trying to do). In addition, the boat captain gave us a wild ride when we got close to the harbor that was as good as a theme park ride! We loved it!

Fantastic trip out to see the Puffins. Emily was our guide and we had beautiful weather with thousands of Puffins to see!! Emily even shared some of her own photos which were taken with a better telephoto lens than we brought ourselves.
The boats are set up beautifully, with pneumatic saddle type seats and strong handholds. Like special forces SEAL team boats setup for Puffin encounters. The Captain even showed us some fast S-turns on the way back and the boat handled like a dream.... a very fun part of the trip!
The outfitter provides everything you need and the trip doesn't take long at all. There were plenty of birds to see and the crew even offered binoculars to the guests.

We had fun on this tour. My husband did feel a little seasick since this is a RIB and the wind makes the water rough. We felt safe throughout the duration of the tour. The tour guide was patient and shared bird knowledge. We got to see many sea birds. Iceland has the largest colony of puffins and this is really the only way to get somewhat close to them. They are skiddish and nest in the small islands off the coast. They were really cute. The guide took pictures with a nice camera that he shared at the end of the tour which is really great since phone cameras might not work the best with how small and quick the puffins move. But this tour is the closest you will get to the puffins!
The seats were a little uncomfortable for a short person because your feet dangle a bit but still worth the trip.
We saw many puffins! They are only in Iceland during their nesting season so be sure to plan for that if you want to see puffins.

This was a great tour and our guide was excellent.
Unfortunately, we went at the end of the season and most of the puffins had migrated but our guide found as many as he could for us to see

From the warm suits and complete safety briefing to the knowledgeable marine biologist to guide us, the boat trip to see the puffins was well worth it. The tour company even has binoculars to borrow. Rodrigo was a wonderful, informative guide and we saw dozens of puffins - and the season ends tomorrow- so well worth it!

We had perfect weather (almost too hot with the waterproof suits on) and smooth seas...it was a lovely trip out to see Puffins, who were quite active, and other seabirds. Informative and friendly guide - everything was as expected (or better!).
We also did the Classic Whale Watching tour the next morning and had a great time! Glad we were on the bigger boat for the longer whale watching tour

The puffins premium tour was a very nice experience that we recommend.
The explanations of the biologist are very interesting to understand the way of life of the birds.
Whale Safari gave us some very nice photos of the outing.
