Some say the best way to really get to know a new area is on the seat of a bike, and we couldn’t agree more. We think our Hardtail, Acid Cube E-Bikes are perfect for exploring St. Maarten at your own pace, no matter your level.
Our renal bikes come with a helmet, water bottle, and a repair kit. We also include a map of the island with each rental group
Please keep in mind that St. Maarten does not have bicycle paths and you should not ride if you are uncomfortable cycling with traffic. You should also be a confident rider and over the age of 13 years. Upon receiving your bike you will be asked to sign a rental agreement and provide a credit card.

Unfortunately, while the rental process and bikes we're great, the experience of trying to be on the main roads with al the traffic was hair raising. My wife was so uncomfortable, we had to go back after barely making it out of the port. Not having any bike helmets made it even worse. I'm not sure why the operator would think anyone is safe in that environment without a helmet.

This was no fault of the e bike, but we were inexperienced and did not realize that the e bike would not get us up the hill if you didn't keep paddling..
And if you're not experienced on being on a bike, we wouldn't recommend it.. Plus the roads and drivers are really crazy, and there's really no room to ride on the side of the road.. Would recommended you take a guide and not go by yourself.

My husband and I recently went on a cruise a couple of weeks ago on the Wonder of the Seas and one of our stops was St. Maarten. We booked an E-bike tour with trisportsx, and were so glad we did! Benson was our guide, and fortunately for us, we were the only 2 people in the tour! First of all, we can’t say enough about Benson. Be is such a nice guy, friendly and so obliging. We asked if we could go to the beach where the planes fly over, and even though it wasn’t part of the tour, he happily approved to it! It was an awesome tour! We went from the Dutch side, into the French side of St. Maarten. Stopped at some very key places, so that he could give us historic information of the areas, and also to answer any questions we had about the island. We saw a smaller plane fly over the beach we visited which was very lucky and also walked around the ruins of an old fort. We stopped along the journey for a great smoothie compliments of the company. The ride definitely was not easy, lots of hills, which we’re not used to, being Floridians. Benson prepared us for the ride before we even started to show us how to shift, and what power to use when battling the many hills. Overall our experience was amazing. Benson was a great tour guide, always watching out for our safety, extremely knowledgeable, and informative, and just an overall great guy! If we ever come back, we would do this tour again, with Benson! One thing I do have to mention is that having some riding experience on an e-bike is a plus, which we both do. Thankyou to Trisportsx for the highlight of our trip, and thankyou Benson for a fun, and adventurous tour of your beautiful island!!

We had a great experience with this e-bike rental company. The bikes were delivered to our cruise port. He informed us how to use the e-bikes and was very helpful especially when we had to climb the hills. I would definitely use this company again. Fantastic service.

Before our cruise to the Southern Caribbean islands, I reached out to Tri-Sport directly on their website to book the Two Countries, One Bike Tour. All communication via email was prompt and thorough. We knew exactly where to meet after departing the cruise ship in St. Maarten's cruise terminal.
Our guide for the day, Pablo, gave us a helpful review of the eBikes. If you are debating on whether to spend the little bit extra for the eBike, don't think about it, just do it! You will thank yourself later, as there are some decent size hills that have to be climbed and having the battery assist option makes the trip doable for anyone who can ride a bike and has just a little bit of stamina.
The tour allowed us to see interesting places and beautiful sights on both the Dutch and French sides of the island. The pacing and stops that were included were well thought out and the smoothie/drink stop was very refreshing. Before coming to the island, my friends and I had hoped to be able to stop by Maho Beach and see the airplanes buzz the beach as they land. We were very excited to learn that this is included in the tour. We saw two large airplanes come in for a landing and one taking off within a 15 minute time period.
Lastly, my group and I can't say enough wonderful things about Pablo. Not only was he a great bike coach and tour guide, he is also a wonderful ambassador for the island. He shared lots of interesting stories and information about St. Maarten, how it was established, important sights to see and left us all wanting to come back for a longer visit.
If you enjoy biking and have some time in St. Maarten, I would highly recommend booking with Tri-Sport. You won't be disappointed!

Visiting St. Maarten on 24.01.2023 with "Mein Schiff 2" we booked two E-bikes with Tri-Sport in advance. We didn't do an organized tour, but individually discovered the island: Rainforest Adventures (Zipline "Flying Dutchman": expensive, but great fun), Maho "Airport" Beach, Terres-Basses, Marigot and finally swimming at Great Bay Beach before returning to the Cruise Ship Terminal.
Getting the bikes and returning them at the Cruise Ship Terminal was very well organized. Pablo handed over the bikes, helmets, lock, service-kit plus map and gave all information. He also offered water-bottles, but we brought our own.
As Pablo explains, the roads are "Carribean Roads" and you have to share it with cars, trucks and any other vehicles, so the offered helmets are advisable.
We enjoyed our ride very much and can recommend Tri-Sport for going on your individual E-bike tour on St. Maarten/Saint Martin.

E-biking in St. Maarten was challenging for us, but mostly because we don’t ride in city traffic. The hills were steep for us but the bikes performed like champs. The staff were SO helpful, giving us a great orientation and good advice. When we decided to abandon our ride in another part of the island we just dropped off the bikes at another of Tri-Sports’ locations and took the bus ($2 each) back to the ship. Great memories!

Emailed to change date for this due to change in cruise itinerary. No response and when I came into port at end of pier where I had been told to pick up bikes no one knew anything about e bike rentals. Very disappointed and still haven’t heard from company.
