Begin your tour by stepping into the past at the National Archives. With pre-reserved tickets for the first entrance of the day, your expert guide will lead you straight in to see some of the most influential documents in history. At the Rotunda, lay your eyes on the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights as you hear about their legacy and influence. You’ll also see one of the original copies of the 1297 Magna Carta and discover its influential legacy, including how it came to be stored in Washington D.C.

Description: A scenic stroll through the Sculpture Garden awaits next. You’ll see some stunning pieces including Marc Chagall’s ‘Orphée’ a gorgeous mosaic inspired by Greek mythology and Hector Guimard’s ‘Entrance to the Paris Métropolitain’, a feature which can still be seen at 86 station entrances in Paris today. Alongside these beautiful sculptures, you’ll pass through the center of the garden, used as a gorgeous fountain in the summer and an ice-skating rink in the winter.

Next is a walk along the most-visited national park in the United States, the National Mall. Filled with landmarks comemmorating the nation’s founders and veterans, you'll uncover the fascinating history of the birth of the US as you trace the founding fathers' steps to the US Capitol. On your way, you’ll take in iconic sights like the Smithsonian Castle, Hirshhorn Museum and the National Air and Space Museum. Stop to admire the beautiful Reflecting Pool and Grant Memorial on your way to this historic building.

An historic monument, a working office building, and one of the most iconic symbols of democracy worldwide, you’ll discover all of these sides to the US Capitol on your visit. See the original House of Representatives, tour the crypt, and hear some fascinating insights you won’t hear elsewhere. You’ll come away with a greater understanding of the continued significance of this building and its place in history.

The tour was amazing. We were blessed with awesome weather. I would not recommend this tour if it’s hot however the guides were great and made sure we stayed hydrated. I would also suggest when planning this tour to check in at the front of the National Archives. My family went to the back door because we were not sure. Best part was being able to see the archives with just our tour prior to the public. That was amazing.

We had the best tour guide Joe! He was super fun and knowledgeable. It was nice to be able to skip the line at both the Archives and Capitol. Saved a lot of time. Had a great walk through the sculpture garden and up to the Capitol. Highly recommend!

Great tour that gives you the highlights. Our tour guide was Joe and he did a great job answering our questions and keeping us on time. Because the tour is more of an introduction I definitely want to go back to DC for a deep dive. Favorite parts were the archives and seeing the Founding Documents and the Capital.

Though the Capital tour itself was good its because the US Capital tour guides were good not our City Experiences tour guide. Our tour guide, Jessie, was not very knowledgable about the capital beyond the fairly generic information about Washington DC. Additionally, we almost didnt make it into the Archives building because he was told by guard that his pass only got in 6 people as opposed to the 12 we had in our group. The real value in this tour was that we didnt have to book the US capital tour ourselves.
