Our first meal was mushroom risotto, which wasn't really Scottish. Our second was some beet potato gnocchi which was really not good on a bed of a whipped type of bean and nut puree? if you didn't like fish this was your only option. Knowing our next stop after walking for 1.5 hours and two subpar foods and one glass of elder water and 2 ounce of wine, we were going for some type pork based sausage with runny egg but not sure. We were hungry and left the group to go eat. Elsa our guide had already been on a tour that day but was very nice. The day was rainy and miserable, and the food matched it. Rethink this tour.

Fran was a great guide. I would have liked more, shorter stops. we only went to four locations. I also did not need alcoholic bevs it was too early in the day.

Fran, our guide was fantastic- knowledgeable, patient, organized and fun.
The restaurant stops were extra special- delicious and beautifully prepared.
One of the highlights of our jam packed trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed a funny and educational walk around Edinburgh and learned about Scottish food and drinks - traditional and contemporary. Our favorite dish was the salmon at Under the Stairs (though the Scotch Egg and Mac n Cheese at Rabble and the Mushroom Risotto at The Outsider were delicious as well) and our favorite dessert was the Sticky Toffee Pudding at Whighams.

We had a great evening with our small group and our guide, Fran. We went to places that I would have walked past! We went to a jazz club and even a private whisky club. Food was top notch. Thank you, Fran!

Great food but it was very different than the previous pictures others had. The food was good but there were things I had really hoped to see that weren't there.
We had Mushroom Risotto, Salmon, Haggis, Sticky Toffee Pudding. There were several drinks as well...beer, wine, whiskey.
The tour guide had great stories but it was impossible to hear her. She tried projecting but we could still here nothing unless we were immediately next to her.
