WHAT TO EXPECT

Prior to the 19th century, Rio de Janeiro was surrounded by Atlantic rain forest. Today, all that remains is the 13-square-mile (33-square-kilometer) jungle known as Tijuca National Park. Studded with tropical trees knotted together by jungle vines, the world’s largest urban forest is home to ocelots, howler monkeys, more than 300 bird species, waterfalls, and one of Rio’s iconic landmarks, the Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) statue standing atop Corcovado Mountain.

Sugar Loaf Mountain, 396 meters or 1300 feet above sea level. From up there, you will have a chance to see the most breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro and will definitely understand why everyone says that Rio is “The wonderful city”

Is one of the most famous and most beautiful beaches in the world. The atmosphere is very vibrant and the people are colorful and fun loving.After the pick-up we will start the tour from Copacabana Beach.

Ipanema beach is bordered by Arpoador Beach on one end and Leblon Beach on the other end. This beach is considered one of the main centers of activity for the city of Rio. One of the most expensive places to live, the neighborhood is full of wealthy residents.

Following we will then visit the São Bento Monastery. A place of monastic simplicity that is one of the most beautiful architectural complexes in Brazil where there is a surprising contrast between the austere, purposefully simple appearance of the exterior and the richness of the interior highlighting gilded Baroque engravings with plants motifs. See for yourself the exuberant Rococo style in the engraving on the high altar, followed by a view of the dome and the Chapel of the Santíssimo Sacramento.

Maracanã has already been the scenery of the most important Brazilian soccer classic and earned historical moments of the international soccer. Monumental facts, like the thousandth goal of king Pelé, in 1969, also happened in the grass of the soccer Brazilian temple. Inaugurated in July 16th , in 1950, has already received the World cup games of that year and some matches of the World championship 2014. Also hosted the Confederations cup of 2013, opening and closing ceremonies of the pan American games of 2007 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, in 2016, Besides the sport competitions, Maracanã has already been a stage for important events, like Madonna, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner shows and camp mass, of the Pope João Paulo II, in 1980 and 1997.

rom the top of Corcovado Hill you will be able to admire The Christ of the Redeemer statue, which has 38m or 125 feet in height and was made of reinforced concrete clad in a mosaic of thousands of triangular soapstone tiles, and also will have a chance to see some of the most beautiful views of the city.

The Chinese-style gazebo offers breathtaking views of the city and the bay. You have them spread at your feet while enjoying the shadow of a lovely structure. The walk here is also pleasant. Consider the weather before you come here so you could really enjoy the views and don't forget your camera!

The Theatro Municipal is an opera house in the Centro district of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built in the beginning of the twentieth century, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful and important theatres in the country. The building is designed in an eclectic style, inspired by the Paris Opéra of Charles Garnier. The outside walls are inscribed with the names of classic Eurocentric & Brazilian artists. It is located near the National Library and the National Fine Arts Museum, overlooking the spacious Cinelândia Square.

Michael and Nicole Roy went with Gisela Vayda on a private tour for 2 days . Plus Gisela picked us up at airport on the 23 April . On 24 and 25 April she took us on extensive touring of Rio . Including my home where I lived for the first 4 years of my life . She had her daughter Victoria to help her . She was EXCELLENT I would say BRILLIANT and we covered such a wide range of Rio de Janeiro . She had a had unbelievable knowledge and spoke excellent English.
She made our trip to Rio one of the most memorable trips I have ever made . She the transferred us to our cruise on Saturday the 27 April . We will never forget her or Victoria . Highly recommend her in fact would say you are missing out by not using her . Nicole Roy

Gisela was an incredible guide! She went above and beyond. We had a custom itinerary that she followed perfectly. We had more time than we expected, and she filled it with awesome experiences we hadn’t planned.

She also went out of her way to point out interesting things about Rio along the way. Our group couldn’t speak Portuguese, and her English was exceptional.

We highly recommend hiring her if you’re wanting to tour Rio!

We booked CariocaTropical for a half day trip in Rio, because we were very limited in time. Gisela and her driver organized anything in an excellent manner, they picked us up at the hotel and we were on time at the airport! Thank you Gisela for your sophisticated outstanding tour!

Before and during our 4 days tour of Rio de Janeiro, the communication with Gisela has been excellent! She is a pleasure to be with. Has a vast knowledge of the city and shares her knowledge in such a natural way that we actually remembered it all.
We felt very safe with her and her excellent drivers during our 4 days together. Needless to say we enjoyed exploring Rio de Janeiro with Gisela!

Sergio met us at our hotel and took us from Copacabana Beach into downtown Rio and back. Really got the feel of the city riding the metro, walking the city streets and learning about the history, architecture, people, food, and culture. Sergio tailored our walk based on our interests and willingness to see even more than we expected. He was a relaxed, personable, and informative guide. Highly recommend!

Many Thanks Gisela for arranging our private tour guide Claudro who showed us the sites of Rio. Claudro was outstanding he knew the city inside out and we were very pleased on everything we saw . Gisela arranged a private tour for us of Rio. Our guide Lais was outstanding. She was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. She was very flexible and allowed us to alter the itinerary as the day progressed due to weather issues. We were able to customize the tour to include some of the standard Rio sites (i.e. Sugarloaf and downtown) with some of the Jewish sites. Highly recommended.
