Leaving from Porto, meet your tour guide at 08:30 a.m and travel to the beautiful Douro Valley in a comfortable climatized vehicle.
After the first stretch of the journey you will be visiting a small family owned vineyard, with a wine tasting of their own production.
Next enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley (Pinhão) where we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 1 hour cruise in the Douro River, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into one of the most unique in the world.
Then, in order to complete this experience, enjoy a traditional lunch in a vineyard of a small-medium producer, finishing with a delicious port wine tasting, at their cellars.
After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

WHAT TO EXPECT

After meeting with your tour guide, leave from Porto, and travel to the beautiful Douro Valley in a comfortable climatized vehicle.
2.
After the first stretch of the journey and having arrived to the Douro Valley, we will be visiting a small family owned vineyard, with a wine tasting of their own production. Here we will have a commented wine tasting we will also enjoy some wonderfull views of the terraced hills that make the Douro Valley so unique.
3.
After the first winery, enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley, the beautifull village of Pinhão.
4.
In Pinhão we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 1 hour river cruise, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into a true "Geologic Poem"
5.
After the scenic cruise it´s time to drive up the hills, through the windy Douro roads and get on our way to Sabrosa, for lunch. It´s time to discover more of what the Douro Valley has to offer and to enjoy the breathtaking views from up the mountains.
6.
In Sabrosa we will stop at another family owned winery, where we will have a traditional portuguese lunch complete with 4 courses, entrance, salad, main dish and dessert, all paired with their delicious Douro red and white wine. For the grande finale we will visit their cellar where we will try some of their fantastic ports. After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

• Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
• Public transportation options are available nearby
• Specialized infant seats are available
• Suitable for all physical fitness levels
• Confirmation will be received at time of booking;
• The day before the tour, you will receive the exact pickup details regarding pickup, meeting point and time;
• Parents should bring the baby car seat ajusted to infant's age (1 to 3 years old). We only have seats available after 4 years old.
• This tour may be done in two languages. We try to avoid it, but sometimes we have no other solution.
• This tour has two different options, with or without hotel pick up. If you choose the option with the meeting point this tour may or may not be done in a minibus or bus. If you choose the Small Group with hotel pick up option, this tour will be done on a minivan and a group of up to 8 people;
• For the ones that choose hotel pick-up, if your accomodation is not in a very easy to reach location, we might ask you to meet us at a close by location;
• Private option it's done in a private vehicle only with your private guide. The vineyards and rest of the locations are shared with other participants.
• For lunch we provide meet, fish, vegan and vegetarian option.
• We do tours all year round, in the winter it is cold and in the summer it's hot, please dress appropriately
• There is not much walking involved, but please bring comfortable shoes;
• Don´t forget to bring your camera with you!
• This tour last around 9 hours, but it´s subject to local traffic conditions or visit schedules;
• Reschedulings with less than 24 hours before the start of the tour will be charged a 30% fee (subject to availability);
• The order of the tour or partners visit are subject to change depending on availability;

An excellent way to spend the day outside of Porto and see the Douro Valley! My friend and are typically not tour group type of people but this was our favorite day of the trip so far. It’s an excellent value, the guides are fun and knowledgeable, and the food and wine are delicious! The best part is the amazing views of the Douro Valley (seen during the drive, at each winery, and on the boat). Highly recommend!

The tour guides were very knowledgable and super friendly. The food at the winery was delicious and the setting was very beautiful. Second vineyard visit was quite brief and samples were pretty small but it was a nice place and the Extra Virgin Olive Oil was impressively tasty and inexpensive - and so made for a nice souvenir. The river boat cruise in Douro Valley was the highlight, the scenery is breathtaking.

I totally enjoyed my time, our Host Rita and Pedro were so gracious and very entertaining, provided us with so much information and history on Porto & Douro Valley. I had a last minute change to my booking and Rita was so kind to accommodate. Highly recommend if you love beautiful views , wine and enlightened conversations.

But what adds extra star rating to our experience is that we were well taken care of from start to finish. Everyone was made to feel special and respected. We loved the good three course lunch. Humane approach from the companies involved and especially our guides Pedro and Rita. Thank you so much!!

Pedro and team were amazing! We felt very welcomed to the culture of Portugal and learned so much about wine! Super accommodating and so much fun! Bus was very nice with air con! It starts cold but gets very hot at the end because of the change in climate and landscape. Highly recommend !!!

This tour is worth doing to get a glimpse into the history and beauty of the Douro valley. The guide- Rita- was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. From the meal (vegetarian) to the two lovely vineyards we visited, it ended up being a perfect trip. We also went with our two kids who are 7 and 5 and it went as smooth as possible.

Amazing views the entire coach ride and river cruise, the winery lunch was very tasty, I had pork and mushroom risotto and it was very well done. Rita the tour guide was very friendly and approachable and answered any questions gladly. And the port was good too!
