Enjoy a buffet-style lunch in Avanos, offering a wide range of Turkish food including mezes, salads, meat and vegetarian dishes and desserts. Still in Avanos, visit an authentic family-run pottery workshop located in an underground cave. Clay from the Kızılırmak (Red) River was first used in pottery production by the Hitites prior to 1700BC and continues as an art form today. Watch a master demonstrate how to make a pot, and watch the the painters and glazers apply their delicate patterns. Have a go at the potter’s wheel yourself and make your own unique pot if you wish.

In Paşabağı (also known as Monks Valley because of the Chapel of Saint Simeon found there) wander through the unusual clusters of multi-headed mushroom-shaped “fairy chimneys” (rock formations).

Devrent Valley (“Imagination Valley”) - a stunning valley where you can spot natural rock formations in many recognisable shapes, including the famous camel-shaped rock. Use your imagination and see what other shapes you can find.

He made the tour very enjoyable and fun with his explanations and stories about each point of the visit and also the history of Turkey, Capdocia and each region visited!

My friends and I took this tour after a hot balloon ride. On this tour, our tour guide explains many things in English that are easy to understand, from the history of each place, stories about the lives of local people, to tips for choosing places to eat and shop. The tour was fun and gave us a chance to look around for a while and take some photos at each place.
Thanks to Mr. Bayram Aytekin who helped us to arrange this tour, as well as being an extraordinary guide on this green tour.

Our family booked a private tour through our hotel in Goreme, using the Red Tour as a guideline. With amazing natural formations that have so much history behind them, the Göreme Open Air Museum is a must-visit place to fully appreciate what mankind has to do to survive and thrive in this region. The rest of the locations are a must-see to take in the tremendous history of the Cappadocia region. The stops at a carpet-making factory and a ceramic place highlighted Turkish arts of craftsmanship, especially the carpet-weaving. This amazing tour was well guided by Bayram who was full of historical and social information .

My recommendations for anyone interest in the Red tour are to wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses and either a wide-brimmed hat or a parasol.
