Make your way to the Edinburgh Dungeon and allow yourself to feel immersed in Edinburgh’s narrow cobbled closes and wynds (small side streets). You are about to come face to face with the city’s most notorious rogues and villains and discover the dark side of Scotland’s long history.
Your underground journey takes through different periods of Scottish and Edinburgh history, with live actors recreating some of the more dark and tragic episodes of the past – all with the unique Dungeon blend of tongue-in-cheek humour, scary fun entertainment and audience participation.

Our tour guide was good, but the tour was entirely in the dark. The guide used a dim light to lead the group to the next room, but I had to use my phone flashlight. With very uneven floors, water dripping making for slick surfaces, and the passages and rooms being so dark that I couldn't even see my husband, it was miserable. It's not meant to be a scary tour. However, I have osteoporosis and poor balance, especially in the dark. I spent the whole time terrified that I would fall.

I recently visited the Edinburgh Dungeons and had an absolutely fantastic time! From the moment we entered, the atmosphere was electric and the actors were incredibly engaging. The mix of historical storytelling, live performances, and thrilling rides kept us entertained throughout. Each scene was well-executed, and the blend of humor and horror made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and exciting attraction in Edinburgh!

Me and my friends went to the Edinburgh dungeons late night tour for my birthday and was it fantastic !
Staff were incredibly accomadating with one of my friends who needed noise reducing headphones and the actors were incredible! One of my group got overwhelmed and the priest was excellent with still keeping her immersed whilst guiding her out the room!
10x scarier than the normal one, we laughed, screamed and had a brilliant time.
The drop ride is also great, you don't expect it so it catches you off guard! Makes the gallows fun!
Would highly recommend! 10/10 for everything!

Well worth the visit didn’t know what to expect was way better than I had imagined .
Been to Florida (universal) a few times and this was way up there with the entertainment 👏

Great Experience! My friend and I went and had a blast. The actors are excellent and make it a very immersive experience by interacting with the group. I had gone once before a good few years back and I can safely say I feel like it’s the kind of experience that gets better each time you go! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something scary, sprinkled with some history!

The actors were absolutely fantastic. They were so good at their jobs and made the experience so fun. Not recommended for kids under 13 or for people who scare easily. Had a blast here. Would return.

Could not see what all the hype was about. Expected it to be a lot scarier. One of the people in the group had her phone on all the time and we were told a couple of times at the start to have no phones on. She got shouted at when we entered one of the rooms. The last room we entered was the best, he was a very good story teller.

We went without any knowledge what this tour was about. When we arrived, we were the only 2 guests and we were told that this was like a haunted house experience with historical back stories of Edinburgh. We were so glad that 2 other guests can along to join us. We had loads of fun with this interactive tour filled with scares and history. Maybe the true stories behind made the whole tour scarier. The tour ended with a scary ride. Fun!
