The Amalfi Coast can be complicated and time-consuming to visit on your own. Taking a shared minivan or minibus is the simplest and most affordable way to enjoy the sights. This eight/nine-hour trip begins in Naples and heads south for the breathtaking drive (lightly narrated by your driver-or narrated by your guide), and an hour or two in each of the three main towns - Positano, Amalfi and Ravello - before returning to Naples.

We had a great trip to the Amalfi coast. Our driver Roberto managed the traffic and tight roadway like a champ pointing out sites along the way.
He made recommendations regarding highlights and things to try in each town which enhanced our touring.
When he realized we enjoyed trying local foods he kindly made stops along the way allowing us to try fresh made lemon granita, fresh tomatoes and other produce, and a beachside restaurant that made an amazing lemony custard cake (the name of which escapes me but is the best desserts I have had in a long time).
We would definitely take another trip with Roberto in the future if we are back in the area.

The views along the Amalfi coast from Naples were breathtaking! We LOVED Roberto!! He was a fantastic guide--pointing out wonderful sites and telling us about the background and history of small churches, the lovely lemon & chestnut trees, and driving us on the amazing scenic route! He even arranged for a visit & tasting at a small lemoncello factory at lemon groves near Ravello. Roberto was very interesting, patient, and informative. We found him to be very charming and easy going---just what we needed! The only suggestion we have is that one hour in Positano is not enough! We would have loved to be in Positano for 90 minutes or more. Ravello was beautiful, Amalfi was too crowded & not so great, but Positano is wonderful!!! We just didn't have enough time! Thank you, Roberto, for a fantastic day!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our tour of the Amalfi Coast. Vincenzo was very nice and a very safe driver which I think is hard in that area. He was also very informative and we enjoyed our tour. He was able to answer all our questions and gave us great information.
We would love to travel to that area of Italy again!! When we do we will definitely hire Mondo guide.

Do yourself a favor when visiting Amalfi coast and book a private tour with Mondo Tours. Our group of 10 (including two seniors and two small children) had a wonderful time with our guide Alessandro. He met us at our hotel early and made the most of our time by taking us to scenic spots and local craftsmen in Positano and Sorrento. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Lunch reservations were made at a delicious spot in Sorrento. Alessandro offered a wealth of information on the history and culture of the area. Nicolas, our driver, expertly navigated the windy roads. Passing the lines of people waiting for busses to neighboring towns was more evidence that Mondo private tours are well worth the money.

This is a complicated and difficult tour for a driver/guide, as the drive is exciting and beautiful and the villages wonderful to visit, but the skill of the driver to navigate the turns and traffic is truly amazing. Our MONDOGUIDE driver and vehicle was excellent and we appreciated his experience and flexibility to make our days excursion just what we desired. We highly recommend MONDOGUIDE and no know why Rick Steves recommends there services for all tours in this region. You receive the best of service and value.

Fantastic. All went well. Best way to go to see everything as crowded crowds and buses if trying to do on your own. Driver and guide magnificent. Small number (17) of people in a minivan. Ravello was the standout.

Wow. Hiring Mondo was one of the best travel decisions we’ve made. Vincenzo was our driver for a day touring the Amalfi coast. We rode in a beautiful, comfortable car along this most gorgeous (and a little terrifying!) landscape. Vincenzo was absolutely the best we could have hoped for. First of all, he was a fantastic driver. He did not just zip around the corners. He drove so responsibly and even pulled over a few times to let others go by, so he wouldn’t drive faster than I was comfortable with. He was a fantastic conversationalist. He was kind and sweet and fun and just so enjoyable to be with. A complete professional, but also warm and so comfortable to spend our time in the car with. There is no way I’d be comfortable renting a car and riding with my husband driving, even though he is a great driver. I was so comfortable and confident with Vincenzo driving us, by the end of the day, I was looking happily out the window even when we were driving along sheer drop offs. Vincenzo helped me really enjoy and appreciate the extraordinary beauty of the Amalfi coast. And my husband was so happy to be able to enjoy the view and not have to be watching the road. We were able to stop and explore Positano, Amalfi and Ravello for 1 1/2 hours in each town in order to keep up with the traffic (there’s a lot). We shopped in Positano, ate in Amalfi and enjoyed the views in Ravello. Amalfi was so crowded, it was a bit hard to get a nice lunch and look around for that portion. I might suggest a shorter time in Positano in order to get a little more time in Amalfi, so you can have a nice lunch as well as see the Duomo. But definitely hire Mondo. We used them for this as well as 2 other tours (drivers, as well as Pompeii and the Naples Archeological Museum) and they were all fantastic.
