Learn the history of traditional shinobi traditions with roots that can be traced back more than 490 years.

Our clan is the only ninja clan lasting in Japan whose ancestors served the Tokugawa Shogunate for 265 years.
In 1868 they became independent so they could continue to keep their identity as shinobi. We focus on introducing our shinobi-samurai principles handed down by our ancestors.

With this workshop, you can learn the authentic way of shinobi weapon handling and techniques such as shuriken (ninja star) throwing at a real dojo. At the same time, you'll gain historical insight into both ninja and samurai traditions.

Our workshop is for those who want to know more than just have fun. So, we think it's important to provide a reliable interpreter/trainer with specialty knowledge. Our licensed interpreter/trainer(s) will give you top-notch, real-time interpretation.

5 star, exceptional experience, first-class, a MUST do. I took my 15 year old son here for his birthday. The service and lesson was both first class. We were fitted into Ninja costumes, and asked to knee at the centre of the floor. The teacher spoke to us with his back to us and we had to repeat his words, he then turned and faced us, we instantly felt the power and intensity. We were taught the role of the Ninja, asked to hold Ninja weapons, receiving explanations how to use them correctly. We were then shown the Shuriken (star), Blow Darts and Throwing Darts, and we had a go at using them while using balloons as targets. We had a private lesson and I greatly recommend this Thank you Musashi Ninja Clan Honjin Dojo in Asakusa for these wonderful lifelong memories.

My kids had a great time -- practicing with the throwing stars was particularly fun. Overall, a fun activity for the family.

Although the new location was a little tricky to find in the beginning to find, this was an unforgettable experience for me and my friend.
The class was handled by two people, the instructor and an interpreter, though the instructor did understand some basic English.
They showed us many tools and weapons of the past, taught us the soft stepping techniques, had us throw ninja stars and throwing quills, let us practice some simple sword techniques and finally demonstrated sealing techniques ninjas did often to calm themselves before a mission. We were even given ninja garb at the beginning of the lesson to help us feel the part while executing the many techniques.
Never once did we feel rushed and the two leading us gave us plenty of time to have fun while learning.
Along with the skills they were teaching us, they also took the time to explain why things were done such ways in the past, and told us of the history of the ninja clans.
This was a very fun experience that I would recommend to anyone with even the smallest interest in ninjas, either in their techniques or their history, as this class has both.

We did this activity our last day in Japan with our 9 year old. He said it was his favorite day, and wished it lasted all day long. This was fun, well-paced, and just the right balance of education and movement.

How I wish I could have more stars to give as this experience is one that I had so much fun with and find was worth the time and value. The guides were very hospitable and explains very well in english everything that was happening and what the instructor was saying. The activities comprises of learning the weapons of a ninja, how to move like a ninja, how to throw shiurikens, how to use the bow and arrow, and how to use the short sword. They gave extra attention to let you learn and enjoy each activity. I wish to really capture with words how amazing this activity was. And I couldn't reiterate enough how much I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Will surely come back with friends and family.

This Samarai-Ninja experience is absolutely top notch. We booked a bit ahead of time thinking that it might be sold out, but we were the only family on our day….. it was a divine splurge. We all got to dress in 2 different types of clothing and use tools and learn techniques relevant to the history. The owner is kind and translates everything into perfect English, if you do not speak Japanese. She is from an ancestral line of Samarai/Ninja and the experience provides a unique hands-on experience, as well as a deep-rooted history lesson all in one. Any question that you have is answered with thoughtfulness, insight, and grace. Our son is 12, and this was an amazing experience for him (and us all). He continues to “ninja walk” all over the house today when we ask him to be soft-footed. We will savor the family memories for years to come. Thank you!

This experience was awesome. We did the 90min ninja and samurai session. The class was well paced, especially if you have a small party (it was only 3 of us). The history was great. Learning the techniques of the Samurai and dispelling some of the myths of ninjas makes for a extremely gratifying experience. Throwing ninja stars was awesome! I highly recommend this experience for all, but especially those who truly appreciate the art of the old ways!

I loved this experience... one of my favorites. I was the only guest signed up so I had a private lesson!

After taking after your shoe, you bow before entering the dojoYou sit in front of the instructor who does meditation and shows you the ninja prayer. Then I had the option of wearing ninja or samurai clothes - I chose ninja.

Then he went over the different ninja weapons where you can touch them. Then he taught me how to stealthily move like a ninja. I was able to test out my ninja walking skills blindfolded on a mat filled with bells. He made it look easy!

Then he taught me samurai movements. We were able to practice with a fake wooden sword.

Afterwards, he taught me the shurikan and blow dart. The last event, we simulated me killing an enemy with the blow dart. Lots of fun for a family. The kids can participate, but have to be old enough to follow directions.
