This Peru mountain bike tour offers high altitude biking and cycling through the Andean mountains near Cusco, passing the city of Maras and the Inca terraces of Moray. This second site was used for experimenting with different types of crops at different temperature conditions; as such, Moray was known as the Inca’s agricultural laboratory.

This Maras & Moray cycling tour is suitable for all types of riders as it has fairly easy sections over its roughly 35km length. With your professional guide you’ll pass by small villages, see sweeping views of the high plain and surrounding mountains, and marvel as hummingbirds and butterflies buzz by. The route also takes in the Salineras, or salt drying ponds. Here, some 5,000 salt ponds slowly evaporate and offer up their tasty minerals.

Lunch will be included, as will a bicycle and all safety equipment.

Our guide Armando and the driver were super helpful! We had an amazing time.

Though it was my first mountain biking experience, I feel safe and supported by the guide all the time. He gave me little tips about cycling through these bumpy hills.

The guide Armando is very knowledgeable and he feels proud of sharing us things related to the Inka culture. We experienced the locals’ way of showing respect to the mountains, learned about the inka symbols. It was such a beautiful experience, I really appreciate it!

Our guide Luis was amazing throughout this tour today. Not only that me and my friends enjoyed this exclusive 3 person biking tour, but also we learned a lot about the local information and culture items such as Coca, the Machupichu, rainbow mountain and even the Japanese Peruvian history etc

Louis was super responsive and very helpful in organising a biking tour last minute. This company is one of the only ones that will let you book for just 2 people, includes lunch and is very reasonably priced. It meant we actually had a private guide which was so helpful.
Italo, our guide, had great knowledge about the area and the trails. He was clearly super passionate about biking and sorted a flat tire super quickly. Lunch was great.

After doing a lot of sightseeing by bus I was up for some excersise. I decided to join the biking tour with Inkas Destination and I don't regret this choice. We were in a group of 10 people incuding two guides, one guide drives up front and one guide follows the last biker. It was 60% downhill and 40% going up. If you want you can go quiet fast downhill. Uphill isn't very steep, the only thing making it a bit tough is the altitude which makes it harder to breath.
The equipment as well as the body protection was really good. The bike has springs on the back and front which makes it really comfortable to bike on bumpy roads. The scenery you are biking in is amazing, you get out of the city and drive through endless fields where the locals are working.
During the bike trip you visit Moray and Salineras de Maras, simply beautiful places you have to visit while you are in Cusco. It's also nice that you can rest a bit from the bike ride during these visits.
Make sure you bring some head protection for the sun and sun cream. You are basically the whole day exposed to the sun! Don't hesitate to bring a backpack and your camera, during the bike trip you can store you stuff in the van.

Opted to do a bike trip with Inkas Destination - 2 adults, 2 kids (12,15). Unbelievable scenery - cycling backroads to see local communities, farms, lakes, all with the tremendous Andies as a back drop. Guides were excellent (Luis, Jon) - good attention to safety, knowledgeable, kind, hard-working, accommodating to my 12 year old, who was a bit slower than the others in our group. Loved our lunch spot - authentic Peruvian with an unbeatable view of the mountains and delicious food. Only a few words of advice: you will need to pay entrance fee to Moray, 70s per person, so bring cash! Our trip started at 9 and ended at 5pm, although we thought it was a 5 hour trip... so don’t make early evening plans. Lunch was late, so bring snacks - high altitude, exercise, teenagers - hungry! Inkas Destination could consider bringing a mid-morning snack for their guests - would be so appreciated. Approaching the end of a 16 day Peru trip - so far that biking trip was my favorite day!

This was a perfect way to enjoy and get to see more of Cusco first hand. The biking tour was amazing. I tour guide was John and he was great!!! We visited a few towns on our way to biking through Cusco. The first part of the biking tour included a few rolling hills and beautiful scenery. The second part was the part I enjoyed the most!! All downhill and scary as hell if you have never moutain biked before. Once down the hill we ended at the Salt Mines which were beautiful! We had lunch at a little restaurant!! Everything was great!!! Definitely recommend this place!!!
