Leaving Seville, we will make our way through Andalusia and arrive at our first destination on the journey, Carmona. As you walk through the ancient streets taking in the buildings, most of which are painted a stark white. You will come to understand why this historical town is nicknamed ´´ The White Village´´.

After our time in Carmona, we will move to Cordoba.

This special place contains art, ancient streets, and history from a combination of cultures. The ancient mosque features extraordinary architecture that spans eight centuries. Cordoba also contains a jewish quarter that is home to the only synagogue in Andalusia. Walk through the Andalusian patios and take a chance to enjoy the local cuisine.

When the time comes, we will board the shuttle and head back to Seville (return to Seville at approximately 19:00 hours).

Maria was very knowledgeable and made the experience really interesting. We got to understand the history of Cordoba and what makes it such a unique place. Really beautiful walk too, though very hot so carry water. Highly recommend! Skip the restaurant recommended (La Antigua) - overpriced and very mediocre food.

Carry extra bottles of water from before. Only bottle water is avaliable there ( even restaurants refused us tap water, they said only bottled) and paying Euro 2.5 for tiny bottles of water is a waste of plastic and money.

While I definitely recommend a tour of Cordoba I cannot recommend this tour company. The bus was comfortable but it was 15+ minutes late to the pickup time. Communication from the tour company was difficult ahead of the tour. Once we got on the bus there were two tour guides. English and Spanish. I know both languages but my kids only speak English so we opted for the English tour. During the bus ride the guides took turns explaining things. The Spanish tour guide gave lots of amazing details and descriptions while the English guide was completely incomprehensible and gave almost no details. Apparently we were told to grab a snack in our first stop but that must have been said only by our English tour guide after we split into 2 groups bc as I said he was incomprehensible. So I didn’t grab any food for the kids and myself thinking we would eat around noon when we arrived in Cordoba. In Carmona we were left to our own devices although the guide did try to tell us something - he didn’t make any sense.

Once we arrive in Cordoba we went to the restrooms then immediately started a 2 and a half hour walking tour with no stop for any refreshments. I commented on that at one point (very politely) and the guide told me I shouldn’t complain bc he had told us to grab a snack in Carmona.

The incomprehensible guide gave us a tour of the Jewish quarter and other stops that probably would have been more interesting if anyone could have understood him. The entire tour group kept looking at each other in confusion. Not to mention the amplifiers we were wearing stopped working about 10% of the way through the tour.

Our guide kept trying to give us details but no one could understand him. To give background - I have worked professionally with heavily accented English speakers and I’ve never come across someone who was so difficult to understand. We have taken multiple tours during our trip to Spain and have been able to understand everyone else leading tours.

Thankfully the tour of the mosque and cathedral was led by another guide (also a native Spanish speaker) who had a good grasp of English and we could understand him. Not only that - he had an amazing grasp and knowledge of the history of the building.

Overall I would 100% recommend a different tour company. The only things keeping this from being a complete waste of money were the transport there, the fellow tour group members and the last guide who we had for 30 minutes. And these are all things you can get elsewhere. Avoid the frustration and book a tour company that guarantees competent fluent English speaking guides.

Antonio was a fabulous guide! It was a hot day but he took us to a fantastic spot for lunch and he is a wealth of information. We only briefly stopped in Carmona due to the heat.

The visit to Cordoba was great, however we found the visit to Carmona useless. Nothing to do there but waste time, which could have been used in Cordoba. We were told that we were going to visit places that we didn’t because there was no time even though the tickets were already included in the tour price. Luckily for us, we were with the smaller spanish speaking group, therefore we were able to enjoy at least the Patios part of the tour without any inconvenience. I would recommend if you can, just go to Cordoba instead of the two cities advertised in the tour.

Cordoba with Mezquita definitely worth a visit. In such extreme heat, I would not include Carmona and would of preferred an early visit of the city, lunch and then the Mezquita as that would of been cooler than doing it the other way round.
