One of the best family vacations ever! We learned so much in a few short days. This being our first visit to Egypt, we didn't know what to expect. It ended up being better than anything we could've imagined. Could definitely see a return trip somewhere in the future.

My husband and I booked a 5 day/4 night cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Reflections Travel at the last minute (the day before!) with little information available to us.

We (along with our 2 year old) were picked up by our wonderful guide Aladdin at Luxor airport, who spoke perfect English. Over the next 5 days, he guided us through the various temples and sights, with informative explanations at each one, then also gave us ‘free time’ to explore at our own leisure, which was perfect!

We stayed on the boat ‘Nile Serenity’ - which was modern, had very spacious suites with balconies, delicious food and great service. I’d read online (when I was researching Nile cruises initially) that many boats are described as ‘luxurious’, but in reality, they aren’t. Nile Serenity WAS luxurious (we got lucky!). Staff also went out of their way to accommodate my toddler, which I really appreciated. It was handy that Aladdin also stayed on the boat with us for the majority of the time.

As part of our package, all entrance fees were included, and we also had a private car with experienced drivers. We opted for an extra excursion to Abu Simbel, which was amazing and well worth the long car trip.

If you’re thinking of booking a trip from Luxor to Aswan, I highly recommend Reflections Travel and Aladdin!

I can’t recommend this trip, and Barry as a guide, enough. He provided all the information I needed about the logistics of the trip, getting in touch before to introduce himself, and during the journey he has been reliable, intelligent, and a wealth of knowledge both historical and local.

This trip was amazing. Our tour guide Hany was fantastic! He was so kind and his knowledge of Egyptian history was great. He is the best tour guide we had in Egypt by a mile!
The boat was gorgeous. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. Overall it was a magical experience (excuse the pun as we were on the cruise called Magic!). I would highly recommend using this company. They were prompt with their responses to any questions we had. Definitely worth the money!

Great experience on the Nile cruise - Aladdin was a great tour guide for archaeological sites. In Luxor we saw Karnak, the Luxor temple, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s mortuary temple, and Temple of Habu (which we added on). On the cruise, we stopped at Edfu and Kom Ombo - both were great. Edfu is wonderful as a well-preserved temple - Kom Ombo is very pretty, right on the Nile. In Aswan we saw Philae, the Broken Obelisk, Aswan dam and added on Nubian village, which was an interesting visit. The trip to Abu Simbel was comfortable and great. Aladdin was great throughout telling us about all the sites.

We went for the tour with our friends for this cruise and our tour guide was Hany, he was very friendly and welcoming and was very knowledgeable, he gave us a lot of information about the history and made our trip worthwhile. He was also very good with our kids and answered their question as they are school going and very curious. The temples and the tombs we visited are mesmerising and there is so much history it was breathtaking. We would highly recommend this cruise especially because of Hany

Aladdin is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time with him, especially the info on the god of fertility (lol). We visited West and East Bank, and now will be going to the Nile cruise

The ship docks close to many of the Temples and our Egyptologist stayed onboard the ship while we were on the cruise. We learned so much about the Temples, Egypt and Egyptian culture. The staff on the Nile Story were always ready to help and accomodate you with any requests. The ship is small but we kept ourselves busy and of course, our Egyptologist gave us lots of info. There is no 24/7 food available. You eat at schedule times or you're out of luck. That was ok but took a little getting used to. On my birthday the cleaning people decorated my room with blinking lights and a towel animal. What a surprise! The kindest people to help first time to Egypt travels made this a memorable experince. The ship is older and not a Royal Carribean for sure. Still, we had a wonderful time and took down time in the pool area. The pool is small but there aren't a ton of people on the ship so you're not fight for a lounge chair or place to sit. Definitely want to go back!

The ship was filthy..smelled of diesel fumes..standing water in the shower.
Dirty towels and sheets..Food was disgusting. Ship is old and barely a 1 star,
not fit for tourists of any kind! We tried many times to contact the local tour
company, even the guide who took us on a tour tried to get in touch with them..
they did not respond to phone calls or text messages..WE did not stay on the
ship and want a refund! Horrible experience and a big disappointment with Viator.
WE want our money back!
