We also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Selarón Steps. Then, we take pictures outside of the Sambadrome and the Maracanã Stadium.

We booked this trip as part of a 3 day pre-cruise holiday in Brazil. It was a full day trip so 8 hours in length. We had booked the 'English' version for our tour. The tour guide was hopeless and struggled with English. He seemed happier speaking in Spanish / Portugese, although even guests that could spak Portugese said he was terrible. He arrived 40 mins late, after we had been told to get to the meeting point 15minutes early! We got no apology. He also struggled to give a commentary on the sites we passed and did not give us an overview of the day before we started. ie. what order were we doing the itinerary and where were the toilet stops.. Some of the stops i.e. the Maracana Stadium, were a total waste of time. We all had to get off the bus to take photos of concrete walls. Despite the morning starting off beautiful, by the time we got to Christ the Redeemer in the afternoon the clouds had come in and visibility was non existent. This should have been the highlight of the tour and I would have expected that the weather would have been checked in the morning so that we could avoid the experience being ruined. Despite everything, we ended up having a good time as we had fun with the other people on the trip. I would maybe recommend people undertake a half day tour as this was just too long!

This tour was a great experience. The bus was really nice and the guide spoke good English and was very informative. They were also right on time on the morning. We got a lot done in one day - visited Cristo Redentor, drive by the soccer stadium, stopped by the cathedral that looks like a pyramid, saw the seladon steps and finally took the cable car up to sugarloaf mountain. The spot for lunch was a buffet and it was very satisfactory. Desserts and drinks were extra.

After a scary start, due to our mixup up meeting spots, all was great, due to the guide’s persistence in finding us. Too bad for us, that the Cristo Redentor was so shrouded in fog, that we had trouble seeing it, even while we were actually touching it. Regardless, it was a great day and introduction to the city.

This was a great day. This tour was operated by Rio Carioca tours. We were picked up at our Copacabana hotel and had skip the line tickets for both the sugarloaf mountain cable car and the train to Christ the Redeemer. Both of these attractions get very busy so skipping the line was great. Both attractions also offer a personalized photo with a great backdrop of the place that you can purchase for less than $15 US when you exit. You will also visit the soleran steps and have a buffet lunch. Note that the lunch was described as a Brazilian steakhouse which for me means being offered many cuts of meat by waiters. This was a buffet that included several kinds of meat which was fine but nothing special. The tour leader described each part of the tour in 3 languages: English, Portuguese, and Spanish. The vehicle was a small Mercedes mini bus that seated 20 to 30 people. This tour is a very efficient way to see the top sights of Rio.
We left the hotel at 830am and returned in time for supper.

The views are breathtaking, the guide terrific. The train was great, the. Cable cars were incredible but the poor AC in the van was unacceptable. It should have been repaired before taking us out.

Though the natural features from de city, parks and other atractive activities in the full-day pack with Ms Monica (our guide), all logistics aprouches did well because of the know-how of the guide linked to times of moove, tracks, transit, buy of tickets. Programed visits were realized in time. Food in good quality. Monica's explanations of evolution of City across the years and photo comparisons were excelent to make sense of the evolution of the City modifications. I recomend.
