Please be aware when booking this tour it is in Spanish only. As the only English speaker on the tour my experience was very poor. The guide only gave explanations in Spanish and very little instruction in English. The stops were shortened due to heavy traffic so the majority of the tour is spent in the bus. Ultimately this was a glorified Uber ride. Would not recommend.

This was a good excursion to see the highlights of Mexico City. The trip to Xochimilco was very nice. We had a good float by the lazy canal and ate some good food whilst on board. We also had time to shop the local shops. We then went to Coyoacán and visited the city center and the Frida Khalo museum. We received a thorough explanation of the Mexican education system and had a wonderful visit to the University. I really enjoyed the tour and our guide Marta.

When I made the reservation for the tour the confirmation said it would pick us up at the address given for our Airbnb. The night before the tour I received an email stating that I had not given an address (which was on the confirmation email) and I would be picked up at a designated meeting spot approximately 2.3 miles away. I reached out and was able to get a hold of someone who arranged for a driver to pick us up at a hotel 3 blocks from the Airbnb. That driver picked us up at 8:30 and took us to the tour departure area to get on our tour van. 40 minutes later our van was finally ready and we departed. The first stop of Coyocan was interesting mainly due to the church we walked through. The rest of the time in Coyocan the tour guide seemed to aimlessly have our group walk around the streets with no real plan. The time would have been better spent if we could explored on our own and met back up at a designated time. The second "stop" was the University city tour which consisted of stopping on the side of the road near the stadium where the 1968 Olympics were held. A brief explanation of the stadium and then we were scurried back on the van. No tour of the stadium or campus of UNAM. The last stop at Xochimilco had the most anticipation because of what we had heard about it. Seeing the colorful boats lined up on the canals is beautiful. But once you board the boat is constant harassment from floating vendors wanting to sell you things or play music for you. And I mean constant. The tour boat pulled over at one business that sold plants and some products made from honey. As a tourist from another country it is not likely you are going to buy a live plant and it wouldn't probably be allowed into your country anyway. Reversed direction back to the starting point and the only good thing was that the floating vendors are not nearly as aggressive when you are going back towards the docks. What a disappointment Xochimilco turned out to be. It has just been turned into another tourist trap full of trash and cheap souveniers priced higher because of the location. Francisco the tour guide was friendly but spent most of the time with the Spanish speaking guests since our tour consisted of both English and Spanish speaking tourists. The driver Daniel was very pleasant and even practiced his English with me during the time we waited to board our boat. The van used was in good condition and comfortable. Tips were expected and encouraged on the tour for the guide, van driver and the boat driver. Honestly I think I could have arranged a better tour much cheaper by having Uber drive me to these places and letting me explore at my own pace. I would have actually loved to see UNAM campus.
