This was one of the highlights of our trips. Alice really made the day special and her enthusiasm never faulted. The whole experience was so well put together - from the cooking course in the morning, where we picking our own ingredients (whilst learning their properties) and then prepared and cooked our own 4 course meal .... and of course ate it (delicious!) ! To our afternoon at the Cu Chi Tunnels. Excellent day - thanks, Alice. Would definitely recommend this day to anybody!

Thank you HCM Cooking Class for a fantastic day. Aura you were amazing and we had so much fun with you today. From our early pick up from our hotel you were the perfect guide, very knowledgeable about food, ingredients and how we can use all the beautiful produce you grow at the farm. Thank you for teaching us about the different uses of the produce how to make some delicious Vietnamese dishes and then onto the tunnels where you guided us through an important part of Vietnam’s history. Amazing tour! Amazing guide! Book this tour - you will not be disappointed.

The most memorable parts of the trip were meeting some of the local people, having Alice as a guide/chef, and seeing some different countryside. Also learning how to pick the right ingredients to go with the four courses that we cooked under the eagle eye of Alice and then eating it-very tasty meal.
Then onto the tunnels which was very informative and it was very useful to hear about the war from the Vietnamese side, and their struggles. Seeing actual tunnels and how the people were forced to live and the adaptions they came up with was incredible. Alice made the day with her bubbly personality and love of the the job.

Absolutely incredible experience and so glad I booked the tunnels and cooking class as a joint tour as it saved me a 3 hour round trip from Ho Chi Minh. The guide, Alice, was excellent; she was upbeat, bubbly and knowledgeable all the way through and pretty much made the day as good as it was. This was such a memorable day and worth every single penny-in fact, I would have been happy to pay more. Transport was included-Car picked us up from our hotel in central ho chi minh at 7am and dropped us back at 5pm. The day started with our group visiting the organic farm and picking all the different herbs, mushrooms and vegetables whilst Alice spoke about their health benefits and medicinal uses. We then took the fresh produce back into the nearby kitchen and prepared a delicious 4 course meal-prawn spring rolls, fired poor noodle salad, chicken, oyster mushroom and cashew milk curry and banana spring rolls with coconut ice cream for dessert. After we ate the food we’d prepared, we drove for 15 minutes to the cu chi tunnels where Alice gave us a full tour of the complex and allowed us to go inside the tunnels.

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam. Alice kept us informed and entertained throughout the day and without her bubbly enthusiasm it just would not have been as good an experience. We would highly recommend this cooking class which, not only, taught us how to cook a few dishes, but gave us confidence (when out and about) in trying new dishes and information on how to eat ’Vietnamese’

Alice is a very enthousiastic and friendly guide and chef. We had a great day with this tour. We started the day with an early hotel pick up, and after picking up 3 more people (a total of 5 people for the cooking class) we drove to Chef Tans organic farm and restaurant. We had a fun tour through the garden, and cooked 4 great dishes. It is noteworthy that they are very flexible in dietary restrictions and any preferences!

Afterwards the other three people were driven back home, and Alice took us to the Cu Chi Tunnels. They were nice and quiet in the afternoon, and Alice was able to tell us a lot of interesting information and fun facts.

Unfortunately, due to an illness we had to reschedule last minute - this was no problem for HCM cooking class, and they were very helpful in making sure we were comfortable.

All in all a great experience; we definitely recommend booking with HCM cooking class!

I often take cooking classes when I travel to Southeast Asia, and while we usually go to see the market, this class was very interesting as we actually picked ingredients in the fields outside the classroom while the explanations were given. We were given precise instructions on how to cook the dishes and the key points. We made four different dishes. The portions were a little too much so we had some left over, but we still had dessert.
The people at the Cu Chi Tunnels also explained things to us in Japanese using the translation function on their smartphones, and although it was my second visit, I was able to learn something new.
Our guide, Aura, was very cheerful and helpful.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience with Aura from HCM cooking class. We were picked up from the hotel and travelled to the farm. Aura showed us around the gardens where we picked a selection of fabulous produce and herbs to use . We also met local cows in the paddock and saw a closeby baby buffalo .
The cooking school facility was spacious and lovely . Aura instructed us as we prepared delicious food . Included was prawn and chicken spring rolls ,papaya salad with bbq pork / chicken, clay pot chicken , spiced meat and banana spring roll with coconut ice cream . Delicious !!
We had fun and learnt a lot about the use of simple ingredients to make amazing sauces and dips. We met the famous chef Tan and gained a signed cookbook which is a favourite souvenir of our travels.
After the cooking class we continued to the CuChi tunnels . Aura had amazing knowledge of this region due to family experiences living there . Our understanding of past conflicts here was greatly enhanced by the visit and insights passed on by Aura .
Totally recommended!!

This was an amazing cultural experience lead by our tour guide and chef Linh who was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about traditional Vietnamese farming and cooking as well as the history of the Cu Chi tunnels. We enjoyed eating all of the delicious food that we harvested and cooked ourselves. Overall it was a very rewarding and informative experience. I would recommend wearing closed in shoes that you don’t mind if they get a little dirty (eg no white shoes like we made the mistake of doing) and if you would like to adventure through the Cu Chi tunnels some longer pants is a must. Thank you so much Linh it was a wonderful experience!
