It's a quick way to go around the city but even if you don't take it , you're not missing too much . Everything to see is at sultan Ahmet area . Rest you can do the bosphorus cruise and visit the grand Bazar and spice market and that covers almost everything imo.
The audio experience of the tour none the less was quite good.

The Cons:
- Minimal information on where to meet the bus. The only bit of information is in the listing description which says "Your ticket grants you full-day access to the buses, which depart hourly from Sultanahmet between 10am and 5pm, and allows you to stop at any of the 12 stops along the way." Sultanahmet is a massive area and randomly walking around it trying to find the meet point in the rain was miserable. We lucked out and found a tour agency that ended up telling us where it is. This is infuriating... just send out the specific information on the ticket!!!
- Once arrived at the meet point, your ticket bought from Tripadvisor does not immediately get you in. The person has to take a picture of the ticket on your phone, message it to someone on their side, and wait for a response before they actually issue your tickets. This took almost 15 minutes but thankfully the person allowed us on the bus when it was about to depart and gave us our tickets mid ride. These first two issues is primarily why we're giving 3 stars instead of the full 5.
- Audio guide while neat was inconsistent with what you're seeing outside the window due to the bus getting stuck in traffic / road congestion
- There is no route published so you can't plan ahead. You have to just hop on the tour, get a route printout, then figure out your game-plan. Not ideal for those that like to maximize their sightseeing efficiency.
- For the audio guide, on average 1 in every 3 audio port I tried had issues. It's either broken, or has crackling noises/weird audio artifacts that makes it unusable.
The Pros:
- Audio guide is neat... consider con above though
- Once you find the spot, and jump through the hurdle of getting a ticket, the tour is pretty smooth and in our experience relatively on time at each stop.
- You actually get to see quite a bit of the sights, and if you sit upstairs you can open the windows to take unobstructed pictures. Note on this, if you're departing from Sultanahmet, sitting on the right hand side (looking forward) will give you the best views of the bosphorus as you head towards the asian side.
- The ride was smooth and comfortable, no issues with motion or car sickness in our party.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience this time with Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing Bus in Istanbul.
The driver finished the line on Egyptian Bazaar, and told us to find a way to our destination , by train or bus.
My distination was Sultan Ahmet.
We decided to walk due we couldn't catch a bus due they all were overloaded.

Timing of the bus arrivals was completely unpredictable. Some stops were so short that some people didn't have enough time to hop on or off, literally. Hard chairs in the bus. Grossly overpriced.

Exactly what you’d expect, comfortable, reliable transport that was easy to navigate and delivered the opportunity to see the main city sites whilst listening to the commentary in your chosen language.

I do similar busses all over the world. This was the cleanest one I’ve ever been on. It was wiped down and well sanitized. I would go again.
