We had great fun with Nia’s Cooking Class. The cooking techniques were fascinating and we had lots of opportunities to be involved. The whole set up worked seamlessly with good support by staff. There was an enormous amount of food to eat for lunch and sadly, we had to leave a lot behind as we couldn’t eat another mouthful! The class also catered for dietary requirements like gluten free, food allergies and dietary requirements. They also picked us up from the hotel (you find your own way back) and give you a book of recipes. Thoroughly recommend doing this class - it’s a great way to learn about cooking Indonesian food.

We had the best time cooking with Chef Tommy.
The experience commences with a walk through the market to see the fresh ingredients. Learning about the spices and herbs specific to Bali. A wonderfully clear explanation of the symbolism behind the offerings we see daily everywhere we go.
It was great to learn how to make the base paste for fish and chicken.
Then onto the best sate in Bali........ Fish & Chicken mmmm so good.
We also made Nasi & Mi Goreng, Gado Gado, Sweet and Sour Pork, Coconut & Corn dessert, to name but a few.
I would, without hesitation, participate in this class again it was so fun and informative

Nia Cooking Class is a sensational way to productively kill 5 hrs in Bali! It is a cost effective way to gain knowledge, meet new people, learn new culinary skills and feast on top notch flavoursome local food. The class is highly organised and hands-on; everyone getting a starring role at the gas burner. I loved the way Chef Komang was able to wrangle 15 knife- wielding participants and a myriad of fresh ingredients with patience, humility and a wicked dry sense of humour. Highlights for me were: the huge lunch banquet with my table group; keepsake recipe book, and; opportunity to buy ingredients on the local market tour. Highly recommended! Pro tips: have breakfast/coffee before you arrive… plan to stay and shop at the flea market after the class… local ingredients can pass through AUS/NZ customs of contents are sealed & ingredients are written in english.

I enjoyed learning about culture and the overall experience of cooking the Balinese way. The corn recipe is what I will bring back home because it was delicious.

Absolutely loved my cooking class. It was well organised, great communication, prompt pick up from my hotel and a very enjoyable way to spend a few hours. We started in the market, our chef Tommy led us on a fascinating tour around the local produce, and then back to the restaurant, for a hands on experience of cooking numerous dishes. We finished by enjoying a delicious lunch of all our dishes. Great fun!

What a fabulous morning experience we had at this cooking class. A prompt pick up from our villa onto a visit through a food market. Then onto the cooking class. Every aspect of this morning was extremely professional, organised without fault and pleasant. The staff are so happy and friendly.
We were matched with like minded others at our table which made for many laughs. The morning was topped off by eating what we had prepared. Throughly recommend Nia Bali Cooking Class as a must do on your next trip to Bali.
