You need to level set your expectations on this tour. The boat ride was pretty and it was cool to see the glass blowing, amazing. The workshop is ok and the gift shop was alright. A good amount of pressure to buy something. Ultimately, it was worth it for the boat ride and glass blowing demonstration.

Though watching the demo was good, the description said there would be an option to create something and there was no option. A bit disappointing.

The glass blowing demonstration was very interesting and the explanation as the glass blower was working really helpful. The opportunity to make your own jewelry using murano glass afterwards was fun.
Only downside was the return trip to Venice did not drop us off at the pickup point. It was far away and we had a long walk back.

Really disappointing experience. We watching an artisan blow glass for about 10 minutes before being invited to make crafts using pieces of Murano glass. We were then ushered into the store in hopes that we would buy items. It went so quickly, we had 45 minutes to kill until the water taxi came back for us. I was really hoping to have learned more about the history of glass blowing, or at least had the opportunity to watch the artisans for more than 10 minutes. Sadly, the highlight of this excursion was the trip on the water taxi.

Glass making demonstration and workshop was very interesting and inspiring. The glass bead bracelet self made product was well liked by our family.

The entire experience was top notch! Watching the artisans is somewhat mesmerizing and the showroom was spectacular. There is something awesome for every budget. Our guide did a great job for us and rearranged transportation so we could spend the rest of the day on Murano and still get a ride back to Venice.

Taking the boat to Murano was fun and watching the glass making was interesting. The part where we paid extra for the craft experience was a disappointment. It was merely assembling beads. If you don’t mind “the exit through the gift shop” pressure sales at the end, you’ll enjoy this.

We really enjoyed the glass-blowing demonstration in the factory, and if that were the whole story of our visit, I would rate it 4 out of 5. But there was a problem involving some mixture of communication and transportation. We weren't certain, even 45 minutes after the end of the tour, how we were going to get back. I can't tell how much of this problem was created by the factory (in describing and communicating the tour arrangement), and how much was created by TripAdvisor, through whom we purchased the tour. There was a description that seemed to indicate that transportion from Venice to Murano was provided, but that we were on our own for transportation back. Another description, I believe it was on the confirmation form, indicated that we were responsible for our transportation back, unless we had a "day ticket". What's a "day ticket"? Did we have a "day ticket"? I have no idea. We had a ticket. I purchased Vaporetto tickets to be sure we had a way back.

We had a provided tour guide who met us, accompanied us to the factory, got us settled, and then disappeared. At the end of our tour, a member of the staff indicated that transportation back was provided, but a half hour (my fallible recollection of how long it was) after we exited the factory, no sign of transportation, tour guide, or further information had appeared. I was becoming concerned that they might close up shop, leaving us stuck there, clueless.

I went back twice, looking for further information. In the meantime, I had tried to see how we would get across the water to the vaporetto station, but didn't solve that puzzle. Our tour guide eventually reappeared and reassured us that he had arranged transportation back to where we were picked up, but it never arrived, and he eventually arranged another boat. I think it was about an hour after we had exited the display room that we finally had a boat back, but the driver refused to take us back to where we were picked up. He dropped us at St. Mark's Square, saying he could only take us where the factory told him to take us.

We then entered another phase of our adventure, and I can't blame the Murano factory for it, but we got lost repeatedly, partly as a result of fatigue impairing my navigation skills, and took several hours, including a stop for dinner just to sit a while and recover.

I wasn't going to write a review, because I don't like writing negative reviews, and because we really did enjoy the "meat" of the tour -- the glass-blowing demonstration and walk through the amazing display of glassware there. But repeated TripAdvisor reminders to write a review finally coaxed me into taking the time to write. And actually, both the factory and TripAdvisor need to hear how their imprecise communication can affect their customers. Happily, we survived to tell the tale. ;)

In general the experience was good. Private transportation from a convenient meeting point, a tour of a glass factory and watching the artisans at work. At the same time, we paid for a workshop on glass and received bead weaving, a very big disappointment. In relation to the price, the value is very low.
