Mauro our driver from the get go was extremely flexible and helping us communicate via whatsapp. We we head on on our journey we were both so excited to be travel is such a beautiful car. Mauro told us a lot about the history of Napoli and our other spots on our journey. Each destination we arrived at was a great spot to depart and picked up from right near the amazing spots. There were a few stops along the way on nice lookouts great location for photos. Finally made us feel like royalty the way he treated us. Worth the money foe the trip as you get a good amount of time in each location and you don't really feel rushed at all. Thank you again Mauro.

This was a great day trip as an excursion! We had limited time and Dodi was amazing getting us to see Sorrento and Amalfi! He was a wealth of knowledge with all the history and was able to answer any questions we had, he was quite personable! Bonus if you’re 21+ there’s a vocabulary lesson at the end of the trip!

While we were thankful to check off 3 cities, there really isn’t time to see much in any place due to the narrow roads and traffic. Unlike the tours we scheduled with other companies, we didn’t have a “guide” educating us on the towns. Instead, it was more of an Uber driver experience…someone helps you get to each destination. The van was not as nice at the picture advertised and the lunch experience was our worst experience in 10 days of travel. Food was good but the atmosphere was not friendly - and no one seemed to know what was included for us.

Our family (w/ two kids 15 and 17) toured Positano, downtown Sorrento, and Pompeii.
It is a bit of a drive to Positano; this is the longes leg of travel. Our guide was very skilled and navigated the narrow ways without effort.

Positano has steep walkways and many stairs, with wonderful surprises around every corner. Gelato and espresso were mandatory indulgences.
Sorrento town square has shops with leather, lemon paraphernalia, nice fabrics and other shopping delights. Again, the espresso, gelato and limoncello beckons.
And then we ended in Pompeii. Great pizza (they cover the tab of 80 euro for 4 persons) with your choice of beverages. Memorable. The grounds of Pompeii are huge. I suggest finishing your meal quickly and crossing the street to the entrance asap. There really is so much to see. All the time our driver was friendly and engaging. He does not accompany at the drop off sites, so keep this in mind. Zero regrets!

This was a great tour. Gio was waiting for us directly outside the cruise ship port. He was our driver for the day. He offered to start the tour early as to beat the larger groups on buses headed to the same areas. This proved to be the right thing to do as each location was getting busier the longer we were there and this was actually near the end of the tourist season. There is quite a drive to Positano, it took us about 2 hours to get there. We did stop a couple times for pictures enroute. The drive there is not like any I have been on before. Once outside Naples there is a two lane road to get there and the closer you get it gets narrower, steeper and curvier. I hope you don't get motion sickness easy. Gio dropped us off basically at the entrance to the pedestrian area and gave us about an hour of free time. He did recommend La Zagara for some coffee and a pastry and it did not disappoint, it was delicous! From here we traveled back towards Naples and stopped in Sorrento. Again, Gio dropped us off and gave us free time to explore and take photos. Once finished here we drove to Pompeii and had lunch at a great restaurant. We had a 20 euro cover per person, had we gone over we would have been responsible for the balance but we found we were able to have a great satisfying lunch in this price range. After lunch we visited Pompeii. Gio dropped us off near the entrance and gave us a couple of hours to visit the site (entrance fee additional cost). There are several options to pick from and we chose the Pompeii Express ticket which was a few dollars cheaper but it didn't allow you access to the "surrounding cities". By this time on our vacation this was the seventh port stop in seven days and we had already seen our share of "ancient ruins". It was a little dreary and light rain upon our arrival, Gio offered his umbrella to our group as we didn't have enough ponchos to go around. We were pleasantly suprised with our stop here and spent more time than we thought we would and only saw a small fraction of the site. If you want a licensed guide to tour the site with you may want to look at a different tour as Gio did not enter the site with us because he is not a licensed tour guide. After getting our ticket there was a woman just inside the entrance offering guide services and we could have hired her had we wanted but we went alone. This was a very long tour but well worth it.

Years ago, I booked a private tour of Pompei and the Amalfi coast, and I would always tell people about it and how wonderful it was. So, when we booked a Med cruise with friends, I suggested (almost demanded - lol) we find a similar tour. I was a bit nervous this one would not live up to my prior experience, but that fear was totally unnecessary.

Antonio was a great guide/driver. He was waiting for us at the port, and after the initial introductions, we promptly took off for Positano. During our drive, he spoke about the area and answered questions we had. Positano is a charming town with amazing views. We spent about an hour walking around enjoying the sights and doing a little shopping. Lots of great photo opportunities.

After that, we headed to Sorrento for lunch. Lunch was a prefix menu for us, and it included beverages (wine, beer, soda and water), some great appetizers, a caprese salad (my favorite), several delicious pizzas (which we all shared) followed by a variety of amazing desserts.

After lunch, we opted to head directly to Pompei. We hired an archeological guide, and I highly recommend it. If you’re in a small private group, you get to skip the lines, and even as you are walking through the site, the guides for bigger groups allow the smaller groups to move ahead of them. It felt very VIP.

Fabio was friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Pompei. Since I had experienced this before, I was careful not to say much to my friends, so I didn’t spoil the emotional reaction you have to the visuals and narrative. I wanted them to have the same feeling I had back when I first experienced it. I was so glad that they too had the same reaction. Surprisingly, I was in awe again over the history and just how advanced their society was. There wasn’t a single question given to Fabio that he couldn’t answer.

So for anyone thinking of booking this tour, all I can say is “DO IT!”. It’s well worth the money, and you’ll never forget it for the rest of your life.

I highly recommend the tour if you only have one day to see these sites. We were able to spend one hour each in Positano and Sorrento, which is the exact time you need to walk down through the towns to the seaside, look around, and on the way up look into a few shops. The larger buses are limited on where they can go and drop off so with the smaller vehicle you could basically park right next to the pedestrian entrance to Positano and Sorrento.

For Pompeii, our driver was able to arrange an official tour guide for pompeii (additional cost) that met us at the gates and took us into Pompei and spent 21/2 hours showing us around. She then called our driver to pick us up. You cannot give tours in pompeii unless you have the shield which are very hard to get.

Lunch was good and it was nice to relax outside in the shade and have a nice lunch.

We also stopped at a limoncella factory/store on the way down to stretch our legs and have a coffee.

Our driver Antonio was great. He spoke about life in Naples and was able to give us some additional insight into the local region. He picked us up promptly at our B&B at 8:30 and dropped us off at the train station after the tour.
