Nine oblique lines ( neuf lignes obliques ) is a work by French artist Bernar Venet, located in Nice, France. Installed in 2010 in front of the Promenade des Anglais on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the annexation of the county of Nice to France.

The Sainte-Réparate de Nice cathedral is a catholic cathedral built in the old town of Nice. The actual building was built between 1650 and 1699, year of its consecration.

The Golden Age of Nice At the turn of the century, Nice was a winter resort for the rich, and was virtually deserted in the summer. At that time, the winter climate was so moderate that white was considered appropriate attire. Only the nouveau riche (hipsters) would be so crass as to vacation on the Riviera in the heat of the summer, like Nicole and Dick Diver in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Tender Is the Night.

The Nice castle was a fortified work with a military vocation, present from the XIᵉ to the XVIIIᵉ century on a rocky hill, overlooking the bay of Nice. After undergoing several sieges, notably in 1543 and 1691, it was taken in 1705 by French troops and then destroyed in 1706 by order of Louis XIV

A very informative tour that took us all around the Old Town. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made much effort to make sure everyone was accounted for but not over exerting - she brought us to the elevator to go up the Colline de Chateau! I held back a star not because of the guide but because when the tour started the guide announced it was a free tour and we had paid €44 to Viator. I hope they in turn paid her as we were not prepared to pay twice

Nazrin was our guide for a morning walking tour of Nice. She was knowledgeable about the history of the city and its culture. She took us to all the best spots. Would do again.

i always try to do a walking tour in every city I visit. I really enjoyed the tour of old nice. It had been over 30 ears since I had been to the city and it sowed me a side that I did not remember. Pamela was a great guide.

Our guide Leo turned out to be a truly nice guy with great stories to share. He also alllowed for some short breaks to spend some time on the market or in a cathedral. We were a tiny group of only theee tourists so this made it even more intimate and nice! Nice itself is an amazing and beautiful small city with a great atmosphere!

No communication about getting to Nice from Villefranche cruise port. Missed tour as only taxi was overwhelmed.

The hugely knowledgeable Callan gave us a trip to remember. She brought the town alive with fascinating facts and exciting stories of its history. It was paced beautifully and finished with wonderful views from the castle. Nothing was too much trouble for her and all our questions were answered. Superb.
