This tour is a 2-day service that begins in Cusco leading to the ancient villages in the Urubamba Valley, and ends at the famous archaeological complex of Machu Picchu.
It seems that every village in the Sacred Valley has its own tale linked to Incan ancestors. Urubamba, Pisac, and Calca are the most well known go-to stops to experience.
Palacio de Huayna Capac of Urubamaba, rarely mentioned otherwise, is literally hidden in plain sight. Within the village of Urubamba you might walk right past it if you didn't know it was there. The town starts at the base of a steep hill, while the palace sits at the top, an approximate 15 minute walk at the most. What remains today is a perfectly intact wall of a former Inca palace...that presently serves as a perimeter of the local cemetery.
Under centennial trees in the main plaza, both Pisac and Calca hold traditional textile and pottery fairs on a regular basis selling some of the most unique pieces you'll find in the Cusco region.
